I've seen a couple posts on this and ws e-mailed asking for instructions.

I've posted a tutorial (with pics) at http://fscentral.50megs.com

It can be accessed from the getting started section or the tips section. As soon as I can figure out why it crashes when I try to write a pdf file, I'll create the pdf file that can be included on the download sites.

Actually I'm pretty p.o.-ed about this whole thing right now... There is a readme in the zipfile and it explains at the very top how to install Nations, and yet I still get emails saying there's no readme in the Nations 2.1 they downloaded. 2.1? WTF?? Where is this mysterious file and who put it together? The Nations crew sure as **** didn't.

Thanks for the tutorial DJH but let it be known that instructions were included in the zip to the same degree as 95% of all other sdoe add ons. This whole mess has irritated me enough though that I'll be seeking the services of someone who can make an installer exe for the v3 files the same as for PP6.0 (perhaps 6.1 as well, although I wouldn't know).

Werner,

I understand your frustration about the 2.1 issue and agree with you.

There is one side of this that needs to be considered with the the correct Nationsv2 file. I've done beta testing for years and including the installation instructions in the archive has always resulted in installation questions.

The best approach is to make the installation instructions a seperate file that can be viewed/downloaded prior to or independently of the files the user will be installing.

Once this was done with the beta tests, the installation questions stopped.

Almost all shareware and freeware software includes a seperate explanation of the install process on their sites. They do this to reduce the number of e-mails and complaints they get on problems installing the software.

That's a good point DJH, I would have gone and put one together but you've done a bang-up job of it at your site.

The Nv3 download scheme will be a tad complicated, so I will make sure the installation procedure gets a thorough explanation and walk through on the nations homepage.

Since you are busy with v3, I'll bundle up the page and the pic in a zip file when I get home tonight and send them to you. Then you can just plug them into the nations site.

Should save you some time.
