Well-- I am a bit confused....I know I know- no surprise there, eh?

In my work on revising these loadouts, I have now come to the ju87g2 and am thoroughly stumped....in game- there are two versions of this-- a regular ju87g2 and a ju87g-2 "Panzerknacker".....is it me or are these two exactly the same plane? Why do we need two versions of it?

The reason I ask is that I am trying to work on the loadout and have not one clue as to where to start or which one to start on

Also-- since we now have a D-1 thanks to scorpion-- should we just lose the bombs loadout for the G2? I am open to suggestions here-- but I would like a general consensus as to where to go with the loadout--- keep it as is, or edit it for the G2...

OK....so now I need someone to verify these findings:

I renamed my aircraft folder to something else and went into each of these two planes training missions....the "Panzerknacker" is fine-- it is all Stuka missions....but the regular ju87g2 in all of my missions is actually the 88G...don't know how this happened- or even if it happened to anyone other than myself-- but I do know the Ju-88G is not in my plane list under 6.1....weird!!

The fault is that within the Planepack a Ju87G loadout file is sitting in the Ju88G7b folder, as well as screwing up the hanger in missions you have no rear gunners and only two cannon in nose with just 48 rounds, Spin is aware of the problem and it will be fixed for 6.2 . I will post the proper loadout at simfiles for offliners but it probably means the ju88g7b cannot be used online till 6.2 .

Ok I've posted the loadout file here
http://www.simfiles.com/scripts/singlefile.php3?fileid=480

Its only 7k so its a quick download, put it in your media/aircraft/Ju88G7b folder.

The panzerknacker,, was a tank busting version,, it has the flak cannon under the wing or was it on undercarriage ,,, with approx 48 rounds of tank bustin ordance

So the model maybe different!!

The other had mg17 in wing with loads rounds

By the way,The JU88-a4 works fine ONLINE
with netloudouts
and has loads of ammunition
most mission do have this variant anyway!

You'll survive till Planepack 6.2,
you lost a bomber and gained a bomber!

Pye...

That was the thing-- the Stuka we have been using had the 37mm guns in the gun loadout and the regular MG's in the bomb loadout- since that was representative of the B or D model.

What I want to know is-- how should I make the loadouts for her? I was thinking of havig to specify in the loadout something like "ju87g_guns" "ju87d_guns"...etc....I also noticed that the rear guns aren't referenced in the ladout-- I see references for the wing guns-- but nothing about the rear guns. Are they in the sm file? mposis? Anyone else know?

Jeeves,

The rear guns are found in the ju87g2turret.sm file.

So what'll it be gents...I'm waitin!

Shall I combine the 87 loadouts for the G and the early model (B or D?) or shall I change the G to strictly a G and adopt scorpion rouge's D model for the early version? spin-- can that plane maybe be added to the next PP? It really is a sweet plane if you haven't tried it out!!

As long as both are in PP then make the G realistic, until then keep it as a dual plane is my opinion.

If you speak to Yardstick about this,, he has some strong views about it. E-mail him. He said he helpded someone with it originally.

Sorry so vague,, I'm a bit confused,, I like the tank busting plane with few rounds,, but I do want the option for a stuka with loads normal rounds, especially as the ground pack is out!

Believe me-- I was one of the original proponents of having a bombload added to the G-- I had been waiting so long for one-- and when I saw it was the G model I was thrilled and disappointed at the same time

But-- one of the main thing I am running into in doing this loadout work is a hell of a lot of redundancy-- if we can adopt the D and keep the G as a tank buster-- then that seems to be an ideal situation.....Yardstick-- please either e-mail me or post here with your feelings on this. The last thing I am trying to do is alienate anybody-- that's why I am posting about it.

More on the redundancy in another post soon to follow...

That means we loose a straight dive-bomber, but to me that should be fixed by spawning another copy of the ju folder and using it to build a D-5 version (which was basically the same plane).

Anyone out there interested in adding dive breaks?
