Like the original, this Spitfire seaplane fighter is a modified Spitfire Mk V with the addition of floats, enlarged rudder, four blade prop, etc. More importantly it has an effective 'real' water take off and landing system.

A terrain-covering seaplane landing zone has been incorporate which allows the seaplane to land and take off at any time in the 'open' sea. However this landing zone does not cover rivers or lakes, so a seaplane base has been included which allows the aircraft to operate from lakes, etc. If other planes / objects land over these zones they hit the water and are destroyed. But if you make poor water landing in the 'Spit' you can sustain damage or break up!

The dynamics of the 'water' operations system has been significantly improved. Acceleration in water is now slower (as it is in 'real' water) and as a result take off runs are longer but landing distances have been shortened. 'bouncing' on water has been dramatically reduced.

The aircraft also operates successfully from 'dirt' airfields with it's detachable beaching gear. In the down load there is a comprehensive guide on how to operate the ''Spit'' from the seaplane base and landing zone. The zip file includes eleven training missions for the African terrain.

This aircraft has been tested in 'patch' 1.5.2.8

You just keep cranking out the awesome planes and we will keep cranking out the kind words, great job on the plane I live in Alaska and I see lots of float planes every day so it is fun to fly planes that I can relate to.
