I just got one of the best books of my collection today It has pretty much every tank, gun (artillery and small arms), sub, ship, or ground unit that you would need a picture of....if you want me to look something up, please just e-mail me and let me know-- if I have a pic, I'll scan it for you

Call me a liar I don't have everything LOL BUt I suppose some of the tank destroyers in this book would be good counters to any of those.

The book does have planes as well-- but I figured you guys had that kind of stuff already Here are the types:

Allied and Axid Fighters
Heavy Bombers
Light and Medium Bombers
Jet Aircraft
Allied/Axis Ground Attack Aircraft
Nigfht Fighters
Allied/Axis Flying Boats
Allied/Axis Seaplanes
Anti-Shipping Aircraft
Carrier Aircraft
Transport/Assault Aircraft
Light Aircraft (It would be cool to see a Grasshopper!)

What's the Title/Author of the book Jeeves? What does the cover look like? I have a couple WWII weapons encyclopedias but sometimes I'm aghast at the errors they make... Like one that claims to be complete but happened to leave out the 109 and its variants.

Actually Werner-- I just got it yesterday and I am at work so I forget the title, but now that I think of it-- while ordering it from B&N, I think one review there said it didn't include the 109 LOL

It is a red hardcover book with yellow or gold writing....and while the 109 is missing, I was able to find some great info on bombs and rockets in it

LOL!!!!! Well-- besides the glaring omission of the 109 and a few select other vehicles, it is a great book...well worth the $$ I spent on it

Yea TS, read that. I must be a real sucker for dogs or something though because I found that terribly sad, not to mention horrifying for guys with rifles running around trying not to get killed...

Maybe you read a different one than I did.. the one I read said they trained the dogs on soviet tanks and when they sent them into battle instead of diving under the german tanks (which sound different) they dove under their own tanks, so they stopped using them soon after. Score one for the dogs.

Nope, same story. It's not a biggie, I just went "awwww"! Poor dogs, good thing they quit using them.

Hehe, can you imagine the guy who came up with this though? "No, no fidoski, go after that one, No, I didn't say come here, go! shoo! shoo!! *boom*"

There was a good documentary on war dogs today.. there were 4,000 of them used in vietnam. They could actually hear the wind blowing over the trip wires on booby traps.
After the war most of the dogs were put to sleep rather than being brought back
