OOps- had to add this line- the drivers are complete, toms hardware has tested them, but Nvidia doesn't have them posted on their site yet.

If you have an Nvidia card, Nvidia just released a new set of reference drivers.
v 12.10

Although D3D performance is the same or even 1-2 FPS slower, OpenGL performance has a nice increase. This is great if you are flying the patch using the OpenGL renderer.

As far as stability goes, or if these eliminate the blinking clouds online, I haven't tested them yet (and can't until Nvidia posts them).

These drivers work on all Nvidia chipsets through the GeForce 3

might have to give these a try! If they work on a Geforce 2MX ....

Hopefully it will cure some glitches I have had with the card since I went to beta Det 7.17 drivers....

I find the patch and OpenGL work well with the card too. I runs far better than D3D on a Geforce!

Hey guys. Don't know if you've been following my posted problem with my Nvidia card, but I have a question. How do you know if you should update the driver for Riva TNT2 M64 to a newer one. I was running 6.5 with game texture corruption. Dropped to 5.32 with a little better result (no corruption, just freezes). Dropped to Windows ME's own Nvidia driver and I'm back to the corruption problem with freezing. I was trying to install 7.58 driver, but wouldn't install properly (I know I'm doing something wrong). But ultimately, when do you stop updating the driver for a given card?

NEVER use the WinME default drivers. They are there fo grandma and grandpa to surf the internet with NOT for serious 3D apps.

To update (when they are posted) try doing it by switching to the Standard VGA driver, removing the old version, then installing the new version. One caveat, if the board mfg doesn't stick to the reference standards as a minimum when designing their board (some don't to reduce cost), you HAVE to use the mfg's drivers because the board won't handle the refernce drivers correctly.
