It's out, get it at my site. I'll try to set up some mirrors later tonight. This is not in an installer at this point but is set up as a zip file. Installer needs to be arranged with Dogma. This will include a new full planepack for those without 6.1 as well. Go to my site to download for now. As far as online standard, we will judge based on community feedback. Further on this, planepack 6.2 development is now officially beginning. Please let me know what needs to go in and I will start gathering files. Good luck ------------------ Spin Visit Spin's Planepack Site to learn more about planepack V6.0 and ongoing development of the planepack IP: Logged |

I've tried to make the links more obvious from the main page now. Please note the current file is a zip and is not available as an installer at this point. An installer will be worked on and released at some point soon. As a result, at this time, 6.1 should not be considered online standard. ------------------ Spin Visit Spin's Planepack Site to learn more about planepack V6.0 and ongoing development of the planepack [This message has been edited by spin (edited 05-19-2001).] IP: Logged |

Spin, I found a few planes that didn't have missions and some graphics that I had fixes for but with my new job didn't have time to send them off. If you plan to do a patch to fix anything let me know so i can send the updates to you to get added. Most of the stuff is better graphics for props, new Network.bmp and some updated stat.bmp on a few planes. Oh yea, Spin i'm going to update every spit in the planepack to fix the shading problem on the right side fuse. I'll also fix the IX wing and send you those new SM files Sun. or later in the week. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin Brought to you by the Campaign for a better Pacific. FS Hangar

Why wait to make it the standard? People have been wanting this to use online for quite a while.I think the community should let us know whether they want to wait or to go ahead and decare 6.1 the standard. IP: Logged |

OK...I don't really know who to ask about this-- but this is where it belongs I have been working the last few weeks on modifying the loadouts to make them more accurate-- some gun values were off from sources I have, and the bomb values as well....plus I am adding new weapons that are being made by a few of the talented here-- and figure by the time I am done, there will be a release of all the new stuff BUT....I went to add the changes I have made so far to the new PP loadouts and found a whole new problem.....I see there are NET loadouts included in the pack. Are these Spoon's loadouts? Now-- I realize that we are trying to make things more fair for online-- but I assumed the patch would do this. I don't think that Spoon's was intended to be a long-term fix-- just something to tide people over until the games was fixed. Do people still use Spoon'd loadouts online? I would really like to see the loadouts less complicated, not more-- as it is there are too many redundant choices. Is there another solution for this? ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |

Hi Jeeves,I am all for less complication where possible. I think it really depends if enough people get together and let the community know whether or not the new patch make things for realistic online with the normal loadouts or not. If the patch fixes things and it is ok with the community, I am sure Spin or someone from the pp team can go through and remove the net loadouts. ------------------ Condor out IP: Logged |

What we've always done in the past is when a planepack comes out it's then added to the OS (Online Standard)The reason for the betas was to weed out any problems so when the final release is done it's OS time. Now that this is out we need to update all the pages that list the OS. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin Brought to you by the Campaign for a better Pacific. My reason for net loadouts was to avoid two problems: 1. unrealistic offline play 2. allow online play for people that do not want spoon's loadoutsThe hope is that they will be temporary. By naming missions appropriately we will be able to eliminate or edit net loadout missions quickly and easily when and if they are not longer needed (due to the patch and improvements in the net code). At that time the net compononents of the loadouts can be removed. Jeeves if you would like to send me the updates you would like to make to the loadouts I will put them together with the net loadouts for pp6.1 and use them in 6.2. Some time ago Maury did the same with all of the german a/c but unfortunately I ran into a bug during testing with them that meant I didn't include most of them in the pack. I plan to revisit these over the next couple of weeks and try to isolate the problem then hopefully fix it. His research added a lot of value to the hangar descriptions. As far as making 6.1 standard, I don't want to rush it. I would like people to provide feedback, get the proper installer completed and then pending disaster switch over (hopefully within a week or so). Spin IP: Logged |

Yea but with the new patches a lot of the online damage problems are gone. I flew Online last Monday with the patch and I took Werner out with 1 burst (4 rounds of cannon) then waxed someone else with 4 or 5 bursts of MG's. You could never do that on 1.5 and it was like that all night. There is no need for spoons loadouts now and I'm with Jeeves on getting all the guns right to historical data. IP: Logged |

Heya spin...OK-- I am nowhere done yet as there is still work being done in making more weapons that were used in the war....but I would say that by the time you are close to being ready to release 6.2, I will be done and will send you all the new accurate loadouts and the new weapons that will be included I will be in contact with you more on this as things get closer to completion ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! BD...If you make a mission, then the loadout options for the plane have the NET loadouts as part of the options....BUT-- if you are playing online with the 1.2.8 patch, don't use the NET loadouts....just use the regular ones as some of the damage bugs have been fixed...see Razer's post directly above to see what I mean ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! For those of us who are not as up to date on all the patches, p-packs, etc. Will it be possible to cram all the files into a installer so everyone can be on the same page without adding lines to the startup and file moving? I don't fly online anymore do to the ctd's and missmatches. If we could all d/l a single file that contains everything we need I think the online community would come back. I could just be lazy but I think it would help. Gunner IP: Logged |

An installer for the planepack is in the works. The beta patch is turning over much more rapidly than the planepack will and is much smaller. It doesn't make sense to mix them, especially as at this point the patch is not online standard. IP: Logged |

So now that hte A/C are in a Parfile can we still add sounds like we normally would, ie; Creat a new Aircraft folder, install new folder for specific aircraft, create sounds folder??? And skins too?P IP: Logged |
