What's new?

Just about everything. The original Ta152 was based on Marcus's original 3D0 (the very first SDOE user made plane) and consequently was a little rough around the edges. It did not have the correct Ta tail and the length of the fuselage was wrong. The cockpit used the original shipped Fw190A-4 textures and 3DO. The texture mapping (particularly on the wings) was stretch to fit the new dimensions of the Ta and was distorted as a consequence. The canopy was also the wrong shape.

This update uses the latest Fw190D-9 as a base and therefore has the updated Fw cockpit and canopy (including reflections). The texture mapping is entirely new with a nice Ta152H-1 scheme. And the FM is considerably updated. The onboard weapons and loadouts are adjusted to those consistent with the Ta152H-1.

As a side note I experimented with 512 x 512 textures on this one. The results look great in OPS but in game the resizing to 256 results in a blurred scheme. I am not very happy with the results and may even go back to it at some stage. My conclusion is that I can put more detail into a 256 x 256 texture than I can into a 512 texture that is then downsized to 256.

LoL I thought just about everything looked new!

Da Wing Waxer, I have no clue how this bird should fly... therefor I really cant comment on the FM. By the way the plane looks, she handles how I would expect a long winged plane should behave.

One question, hows the performace up at high altitudes? I havent flown above 20000 ft yet...

Looks great guys, looks a lot more like the real thing. Not to say that the 1st one was not good quality, but I like this one better.
That's the good thing about this sim is that if a guy wants to imporve on a plane or whatever, he can. Good job, can't wait to get shot down by Shark in that

Damn, now I really have to get a move on with that damn Mig high altitude dogfighting could get interesting.

Looks great guys, I'm real glad you got to this, I was looking at it's old SM the other day and couldn't belive it was even in the plane pack since it was even still namedas an 190 in the root model. Now she's looking realy great, so good that the older birds get touched up from time to time, nice work guys

Because this was one of the few planes that was FASTER above 20,000 ft, the speed is within 1% of the numbers Hawkwind gave all the way up to 30,000 ft. The maxz speed for this plane was at 30,000 ft.

Climb and roll rates need more adjusting. I've asked Hawkwind for more data on that before I start messing with it.

If anyone can fill me in on what the spin and stall characteristics are, that would help.

I have the osprey book on fw-190 aces of the western front.Page 86 is on the ta 152.See only had 1 30mm Mk 108 cannon in the nose and two 20mm in wings.Engine 2500hp top speed with boost750kph.Seeis also described as having a very tight turning circle.Climb capability 15 metres a second. ceiling of 14000 metres.quotby a pilot.pulling ever tighter turns i got closer and closer to the tempest, never once feeling i was even approaching the limit of the ta's capabilities.
