well, since it was Razor and Myself that did a lot of the final work on the F4F before it was released I figured it was time for me to fix the things I did wrong on the plane since it was early in my OP development.

I've added a better prop and spinner, updated the cowling to be more 3D and I'm going to add some cool damage so when the engine falls off it isn't just a plain surface. I also mapped the framing on the main tif so it will now be painted a long with the fuse. I did update the engine and add the prop to the main tif so some schemes will need to be updated to look right.

Here is a few pics after I finished mapping the framing.

I'm also going to fix the shadow and all the lighting on the plane before sending it back to Jug for final FM tweaks.

Looks good huh?

Razor,
Mate fantastic work on that 'cat, especially the cowling. I love this plane, always have and seeing it getting improved just makes me cry.
Will You also be putting in folding wings and deck landing arrestor hook for this bird aswell 'cause she was a navy fighter.
Cheers!

Sim, there is a model built with folding wings, but it would take too much work and testing to be ready in time for the next Plane Pack. I figured you'd rather have one with a more accurate FM rather than waiting.

Razer- she's really looking sweet

One last pic before i head to work. Check out the new engine damage. No longer will you have to see that large grey surface when you loose the engine.

Funny how the Wildcat is one of the few a/c that can totally lose their engines in the game.

Lookin' good btw.

Even though I'm really not into the PTO much at all, I think that is a really nice looking plane. Well done!!

Thx guys. It's really not hard for me to do things like this to planes. I kind of like this kind of plane making to get away from the daily grind. The engine thing is real easy to add if we want a few planes to have this. I've been thinking of adding it to the Ki-61 since it would be cool to see a inline with this kind of damage.

Nice work, Razer.

Hmm Werner, the Wildcat/Martlet saw action in the Atlantic and Mediterannean too. Not it 1940 though (although it could almost have, the French navy had tested and ordered the plane, but too late).

I know, I'm just a sucker for the classic ETO matchups - Spitfires, Mustangs, Hurricanes, Thunderbolts, Bf109s, Fw190s (Heinkels... ).
