Heya bro...I am looking into working on the loadouts of some of the planes that I have new weapons for- and I was wondering where you got your info back when you did the loadouts for all the planes a few years back. I did just get a book- but it ended up being one focused mainly on modern aircraft armament. If you could give me some sources via e-mail (either online or paper)-- I'd appreciate it man. Thanks! ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |

Thanks Falck-- I have seen that site, but I kind of forgot about it-- it is great for guns. What I am really looking for though is info on loadouts for bombs, rockets, torpedoes, and mines though. Can you steer me in the direction of that sort of information? ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |

Hmmm..I wonder who did all the extra bomb stuff-- like having three variations of pylon bombs (2 250's, 2 500's, 2 1000's...etc) instead of just the Light and Heavy Bombing loadouts? Was that just making different combinations? I have been looking for ages online and elsewhere for info on WWII bombs/rockets...in regards to how many of each were used on planes...and what the weights and warhead values for British, Soviet, US, German...etc bombs were? Does anyone know of a good site? Thanks! ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |

Well- I have just come from Barnes & Noble and am pretty discouraged. They have great books on artillery guns of WWII, machine guns of WWII....(and a great one on the new Pearl Harbor movie )-- but nothing of any use on info for WWII bombs, rockets, torps, mines, etc.I am sending a request to anyone in the know-- anyone with a vast library or knowing of someone with one- or anyone who knows a vet that may have worked as an armorer-- I would like to find info on weights and warhead values of the various bombs, rockets, and other aircraft armament of WWII-- I promise only that I will make sure each and every loadout (at least in PP 6) will have accurate values attached to them-- and with the beta patch and Bryan's work on explosive radii of the bombs and rockets-- we can once again have accurate values without blowing up an entire airfield with a 500 lb bomb. So-I leave it up to you- I have been seacrhing for weeks and have come up dry. Thanks again guys! ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Ahh.....I see I may have a lead...I just remembered that the Aerosciences museum about an hour away has a huge research library open to the public a few hours a week. I shot them an e-mail stating what I was up to- so we will see ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |
