I know the current b17g in pp6.1 beta4 is the one from pp5.3, but it can't take any damage in the tail at all. The reason why is because the tail section is set to only take an obhits value of 24. This is way to little IMO. The ai just shoots a few shots, the tail falls way and the ai treats the 17 as being destroyed, but yet it continues to fly on in most cases. I made a quick change to this in the b17g.sm file and all is well now.

My question is do we want this to be in the final version of pp6.1? I know I want it to be included, but how does everyone else feel?

If everyone wants it, I can email it to spin tonight.

I'm for it. The more the realism the better. This will not affetc FM or other issues.

I myself like the game a little more challenging Condor. I would like to give it a try before I buy though. Can you put your version up for test?

Ok, here is the status. I sent a modified version to Spin for consideration. It has appropriate obhits now and a minor modification to the engines to allow for engine damage to be sometimes fatal and sometimes not.

I have not put in the engine damage code I created for the fighters into the 17 by any means. No fuel leaks etc have been modeled. I want to keep it simple for now and see how it is received by the community.
Also, hopefully wtg will make a more complete engine dm as he finds time.
