I noticed something when flying afew add-on airplanes. In the bombers that shipped with the game you could shoot off parts of your own plane, but in most of the add-on bombers (IlyaMoritz) and some of my past attempts at multi-personell planes, you could never shoot off your own parts. Wonder why this is only in planes that were shipped with the game?

I believe it is a distance factor. You can shoot off the outer most wing tips on the Ilya V with the guns. But you cant shoot off the inner parts. Theres some sort of distance factor involved IMO...

I think it's a distance thing too, if you go into slew mode and go right up close to an object and shoot, the rounds you shoot will go 'through' the object. Move back about 5 feet or so, and the rounds will start hitting the object. I think the firer of the gun needs to be a certain distance away from the object before they can score hits on it. Imo. You can shoot your own plane quite well in the Pe2 though, the tail especially.

From the blisters of the PBY, I can take off the outer wing tips and HStabs. Before I corrected one of the DOFs it let me move far enough I was able to take off the inner wing as well.... FWIW

We can check with Sv, but I think this may have been done to allow shooting through a propeller with your own guns without shooting it off

As far as I know there's no provision in Open Plane to provide for synchronizing the guns and the prop rotation so this would be the easiest way to handle it.

Um...

If this is an actual "bug"... I'd perfer it NOT be fixed....

The PZL fires "through" the fuse and engine! I'd hate to actually have to "build" rifling bores so my guns would work!
