Private Roger Pilot	posted 05-08- 07:18 AM Hey Guys As a way to promote FS SDOE how about the more talented of you (read anyone but me) make a calender featuring new developments etc in SDOE. I would think we wouldn't want to go crazy with effects, but instead show the guys out in the sim world the "real" SDOE. With that in mind I have made this crude sample of what it is I'm talking about. Sure, it mostly stinks (I already said I had no talent), but it serves as a starting point. This image is real! It's taken from the patched version of the game. I did not touch it up in any way. I'll be real anxious to see what you guys think. PR=FC= IP: Logged

Nat JAG	posted 05-08- 08:54 AM Yeah, I like this idea if nothing else it would be very cool to see it done, I'd be glad to use my other talents and add nice borders etc to any pics, I used to do alot of none-SDOE art on the PC and would be more than glad to make this look as cool as possible PS, what settings did you use for the dawn/dusk? 3dp Pilot	posted 05-08- 12:53 PM Ok, I'm intrigued by the idea, but if I may, what's the intended usage? I've seen calendars for the PC (Playboy!) and wondered, what's that about. I like my calendar printed and hanging on the wall. The only other option I can imagine is doing them wallpaper sizes (640x480, 800x600, etc.) so folks can use them as their wallpaper during that month. I'd like to take a crack at it, but I need to know what kind of resolutions to work in (72dpi for a screen type of deal, or 300dpi for print). ------------------ Be seeing you, 3dp Visit RAF Harkness! Private Roger Pilot	posted 05-08- 07:05 PM Guys Glad you like the picture, as I said, it is not retouched at all, but simply a screen capture from this mission One Gallon More Just download it and put in your Africa Mission Folder. You will need to run it using the 1.5.2.8 Patch to get the desired lighting. As to the purpose of this idea... I was hoping that every month we could have a calander, or heck multiple calenders that could be posted here, at SimHq, World-at-War, and any other web sites that sim heads frequent. The images we would use would showcase some of the cooler things going on in SDOE, both new and old alike. My reasoning for not wanting to do much in the way of altering photos is so we can trumphet the way this sim "really looks" and not a retouched version of it. So no added sun glare etc. Only what it has in it. Or at least, thats what I'm thinking. It seems that if some more people could see just what this sim is turning into, we may get some converts. Worse case scenario, we get some cool desktop wallpapers for our computers. I guess we would want to make sure we had the standard resolutions of 800x600, 1024x768, etc. Thats my idea. It's not a big one, but it should be something everyone could participate in. Thanks for reading and I'm anxious for any more input.
