I was just surfing through some aviation art sites to get some more terrain ideas and wondered what inspires the rest of you to create?

For me, it has always been scale model box tops! They just seem to capture that one instant in time. Now I'm costantly rifling through model magazines to see different terrains.

When I go to an airshow and see WWI kites!

BTW I went to the airshow today in Galveston. They had a Bleriot there! And a Curtis 1911 seaplane! And a Catalina! And MUCH more...

Hello Diego:

I have always dreamt of having a land of Norway, with their fiords, floes floating in the sea of the north, etc. This is still very far from my technical possibilities. Doesn't your that you already have great experience with the lands, have something like that in mind?; I could help in what was.
A question: as faces to manage the lands comfortably in OP?, because they are immense and do I find very difficult to manage them.

Hola Diego:

Believe it or not, my inspiration stems from a long facination (starting in my early teens) with the artwork of Roger Dean, who many may know from his many Yes album covers (am I showing my age here?). Much of it involves patterns and markings in surprising natural/technological settings.

Therefore, it was a logical step when I became more interested in history as I grew older to combine the two into a study of ship, aircraft, and uniform (in that order) camoflage patterns. Hence my extensive collection of Osprey Publishing "Combat Aircraft" and "Aircraft of the Aces" books, my main current source of inspiration.

Roger Dean stuff is cool....never liked Yes that much though....but Rodney Matthews 'in search of Forever' is better!

Plane inspiration comes from hearing the sound of Triumph Twin motors at an early age. Signed up to Petrol Heads anonymous, and have loved anything with engines ever since. Built bikes from piles of scrap, sorted cars, but can only afford to build planes this way

well i dont realy know.

i grew up around planes with my dad as a display pilot and my brother trying to get in the RAF. i made countless plastic modle kits, and i have even got a Bob scene on my sceling of my room. Its 4 spits mixing it up eith some 109s and then i have a he111 flying below the dogfight, i might add another bomber to sometime. I also loved vietnam (ADN INFACT I AM 1 OF THE MAIN SUPPORTERS TO TRY AND GET NAM INTO SDOE)mainly because of the aircraft( A6 F4 that twin turbo fan thing and my fav of all of em the CORSAIRII i love it )

then i moved on to RC models and fly those when the whether is ok.
and at the age of 8 i had a trip in caraline grace`s 2 seat spit at DUXFORD UK.
after that i was hooked anything to do with aircraft, and not just milatry aircraft cilic aircraft also interested me.

oh and befour i forget we need a SEEE FURY!:P

What inspires me..
(in no particular order)

Jeeves - to build new aircraft and to keep going

Diego - To build new terrains (I do love doing this but get put off by how tedious it realy is)

Wakeup Tailgunner - to improve my code and take it to the max and constantly give me new ideas on how code could be used and the urge to make it happen. (this one's me through and through)

and a deep inner need to prove my ideas work even if I never seem to finish them completely

I honestly don't get or need much inspiration fro anywhere else, other people seem to give me the motivation.

casualty even added in the proper texture for the Hamilton cuffed prop that was used during most of WW II. Gun access hatches, etc. Makes me want to make this plane even more accurate.

This was a terrain (like many, put on the shelf ) that was made after Pete Hawk posted some screens of his A-6. In the hope that I might be able to blow up some SCUDS in the Gulf with the A-10 and Intruder.

Gustavo is always welcome to it.

Oh...I never answered

To be honest-- all you guys

When I first got into campaigns, I had pops and Jerry to thank mostly- they always had good comments....then I started working with Zoy and he did a skin for me and I have been inspired by skins and planes ever since. When you guys release something new, ideas start flying through my head.

Unfortunately, I have too many ideas and not enough time to do them all Hell, there are some Contest planes I still haven't had time to implement yet

What inspired me into WW2 sims is this.
takeing eggs from the chickens and dropping them on the hoggs
from the rafters in the barn. pretending to be a bomber.
getting too close to a swollows nest and when the parent birds
would dive at me. I would try to shoot them with a sqirtgun.
that made me an AA-gunner.Bilding every model airplane/ship/tank
that the Five and ten store got in.[all of witch I still have 30
years later]Most of all was the stories PA and all the WW2 vets
would talk of now and then. As I would hide behind the sofa and listen.
Isnt it funny how the ones that didnt talk much of the war had the best
stories. Thanks for bringin back those memmories. That was fun!

Speaking of old war stories, I'll never forget my Grandfather talking about the P51's comming back over Dover.. he was in the artillery as I was, but he was on AA duty, he used to see the 51's coming back after misions, and some of the green pilots that didn't know better would pull a victory roll as they over flew the gun batteries.. this was always the last victory roll they pulled since the design flaw in the 51's made them nose down into the ground, he often told me about this and I never got tierd of listening to him, dunno how often he saw this but I got the impression it wasn't a one off event. Shame our 51's don't/can't have this flaw modeled
