There maybe some technical problems with this site but I can summarise a few things :

1. www.inertiagames.com, www.fightersquadron.com, www.parsoft.com on hosted on one server lynx.macplay.com

2. Ron Dimant heads parsoft, inertia games and macplay.

3. United Developers are nearly finished ( I think) porting Fighter Squadron to the Mac.

4. FS:SDOE on the mac will be released on the MacPlay label.

5. This place is about to get a hell of a lot busier!

Ok, I think there are some DNS problems with ritual.com and it looks ( IMO ) like the smtp server for this server is down which explains why the email bounces and why the forum appears to go down frequently...

Well, it will be nice to keep our home But we do need support, as Snick said, we are losing long term members because they can't post and can't even register a new name. I know we all want to stay here but someone over there needs to start talking to Hawk and fixing the problems, if there's going to be a new influx of members after the Mac Port, they can just as easily join a new board as one that doesn't work well, don't forget the FSIC isn't the be all and end all of SDOE, the members are.

When someone "in the know" starts talking to Hawk about the problems here then I'll start feeling comfortable again.. till then I'll carry on working to make sure we have a working forum wherever it may be.

Nat you might have a tough time getting comfortable because I just found out my password does not work on the main forum control panel anymore.

Elric I am sure that is great consolation to Da Jug Head and others that cannot even post here.

This forum going or not going is not the real problem at the moment. We have people that want to join us and post but cannot.

What we are doing is going to provide you with a forum that loads and runs faster and is molded to our needs. Not one that is controlled, or not, by a game developer, but one for us, by us.

We can wait untill the lights go out, or it comes down to just a few being able to post, but that is not a realistic course of action.

I know it is difficult to think about fixing the roof when it is not raining but I am buying umbrellas and roof patch.

I get a "The server does not have a DNS entry" on Inertiagames and fightersquadron. I get a page that was last updated 11/22/99 on Parasoft.com, sure fills me with confidence. ( o )

My preference is to keep the SDOE forum here- but I agree with Hawks concearn. So Wings with Wires will keep the "emegency" forum active for now. If this site goes away, feel free to jump into the Wings with Wires forum. If it turns out that this site does not come back, we will upgrade the WWW forum to make it work much more like this one.

The Wings with Wires forum would be faster and more reliable, but I think it is much better to keep the SDOE forum tied to Inertia if possible.

Just make sure you all know the address of the WWW emergency forum, in case we get stuck. It would be a shame to end this community all of a sudden and then have to wait months for everyone to settle into a new home again.

I hope you cna make contact with Inertia Hawk

You know what Hawk.. in the light of what you've said, my answer is we should move and do it now! YOU run this board (I guess I should add "supposedly" since your admin password has been scrubbed) With no admin we might aswell haul ass and bite the hand that fed us cause they're feeding is arsnic now.

Yes being denied access to the main control panel is ominoius. That means I cannot do any maintinence to this forum. Who will? I don't have a clue.

SV I hope you are building that Ark now because it is getting deeper in here.
