Posted for Da Jug Head....

Needed- anyone that wants to learn the "black art" of FM work (and in the
process find out it's just not a "black art"), contact Da Jug at
fscentral@americanisp.net .

I will provide you with links to information, resources, and will set up
a special message board for those interested. In additoin, I'll set up
chat times wher we can do realtime Q&A sessions.

FM work does require patience, LOT's of patience. In addition you need to
be the type of person that doesn't need a pat on the back for your work,
as you'll rarely get it. Reason being people can see the results of the
3D modeling but forget the FM model is basically a seperate airplane all
in itself.

For example- how many people have thanked Tailslide for the incredible FM
work on the Spit Mk IXa that made it the most accurate Spit in a flight
sim ( this was in a test that Thrustmaster did with SDOE, EAW, CFS and
Janes WWII)? How many people have shown Zur appreciation for the
incredibly accurate way the 109's and the P-47 fly? They actually put
MORE work into that aspect than went into the 3D model. (My unashamed
attempt to get these guys some recognition)

If you like seeing planes FLY the way they're supposed to, contact me.

For those who have e-mailed me, I'll send out some stuff to you on Monday.

For those who haven't, you can now respond here or e-mail me. But if you respond here and don't have an e-mail address in your profile, you'll need to post it. If you don't want it posted, then e-mail me as before.

Here's a list of what you'll need.
1) Open Plane Studio 1.3
2) Hippie's tools
3) Parsofts tools

Doing FM work does NOT require AC3D, the tools are free.

Some of you already have these. For those that don't, go to http://fscentral.50megs.com and click on the Open Plane link. You'll find links to all of these tools, plus many other related sources.

Please note, we will all be learning. There's a lot I have to learn before I'll be able to hold a candle to the REAL FM guru's.

Thankfully, they have offered to help with any problems Snick's FM team runs into, so any answers or tips they supply will be added to the FM FAQ. ( On the floor bowing- "We're not worthy" )
