Nothing 'wrong' with the cockpit...for a bubble top!The plane is being converted to a razorback variant, which needs a new canopy. Also, the cockpit rear needs to be changed to fit the new rear....etc. etc. etc.
The result, a P47 razorback, would then be the base for a conversion to a P43.
It's not quite as simple a conversion, since the fuselage needs shortening by about 8 feet! 6 feet off the wings, and you are there! It would need a new fuse, new tail, and possibly new wings to do it 'right' but it needs the razorback as a base, not the bubbletop. Since the Jug has a seperate cowl assembly, it's actually not that hard to re-shape it
