I've sent the new SM to Harm to fix up and make a new release. They look about 10 times better then the old ones but that's not saying much for the old ones since they were made to keep FR's up. These don't have that many more polys then the old ones but look way better. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin FS Hangar IP: Logged |

Nice! All the planes deserve nice wheels like that actually. IP: Logged |

Razer did a great job on those wheels... The tire with the hole in it is flat I'll try and get it released soon (this will be DM v6.3), I've noticed the new patches (1.5.2.6 and 7) have some DM code changes that are causing complications with some the '88s DM code. Nothing huge, but I'd rather get it fixed before I release it. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online

Wait till you fly it and if they need to be more round i can change that without hurting the mapping. But i think they just need to be wider. I have some good pics but they where all in buildings so lighting wasn't good. [This message has been edited by Razer (edited 04-22-2001).] IP: Logged |

Lil, I agree on the wider issue. On the lenght thought, they might just look too long in SDOE cause they don't have all that clutter, so lets not shorten the legs, but instead add all that clutter

Hows this? I need to tweak the texture a bit but it looks pretty good. If I can find some time I want to add the "clutter" to see how it will look.

Things like brake lines, landing gear scissors (keeps the piston and strut aligned so the wheel rolls straight ahead), and the other things you see around the strut itself in the pics of the real thing.Looks really cool Tony, but my eyes telling me the tires should be a hair narrower. I think you went a bit too wide, but maybe that's just me. I still love the shape regardless.

Lil' B, the clutter is all the wires and smaller struts around the gear posts as seen in your real-life images above. By adding these details, the gear posts may *appear* to be shorter. As long as they switch out early and don't bog down the FR's, great!------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |

I think the legs are too long. Look at the real picts of the plane and see how another wheel if placed on top of the first wheel would not fit between the engine and main wheel. Make the legs shorter!Anyone notice how the Ju-88's engones are much thinner than the fuselage while the pics show them to be about the same thickness? Snake IP: Logged |

Leave the landing struts the same length and increase the diameter of the engine nacells a bit. The struts can be recessed giving the illusion that they are shorter.I think that the width of the tires are fine. However, even without making these modifications, this is a fine looking plane!!! ------------------ Fly Well, Dub Visit the Wing Walkers IP: Logged |

One more thing to add, the props! Look at the props of the real thing, and then look at the Ju-88 in the game, they seem much too small. (at least in that one pic with the very thick prop blades)[This message has been edited by Pete Hawk (edited 04-24-2001).] IP: Logged |

I agree, the tires look great, but the props need to be bigger and the gear struts need to be shorter. IMHO.IP: Logged |
