I know what you're talking about, I feel exactly the same about it.I've been around for years now and I was , like you, expecting the Mac version coming out on monday this week, but nothing, not even an update on the Macplay website (Jason whong said a month ago there would be an update of the site "soon") I just hope MacSDOE will make it!! Question....are there other games that allow PC and MAC players to play online together?if so then....it is complete bunksville that they are actually putting a mac version out that is NOT compatible. What is the point? No offense to mac users but guys, the community is and will most likely be mostly PCers. You will have fun playing the game by yourself and with handfull of mac onliners...but you'll be missing the whole parade. COMPATIBILITY on some level needs to happen. If not I feel bad for you guys. Thank you Sturn! You feel my pain, it seems no one else here does. I thought I would get a huge response from this forum but other then you and rendsburger and aladar (by the way there is no way in hell i would buy a new computer to play any game) no one else has responded. Come on guys please help this cause just go voice your opinion I really think Macplay would listen if there was a response. What makes this whole thing even worse is I email jason whong every once and a while and he just doesn't answer( thats just rude if you ask me.) Maybe I'm doing this wrong but can anyone tell me what they think would help. I would really really really appriciate it. It does suck the Mac and PC versions won't be compatible but I am sure there will be some sort of patch. We just have to win the battle of getting the game released first, then we can concentrate on getting compatibility. Thanks guys Please respond we Mac users need you guys to help us win the battle. The priorities of people that make these things happen are at their discretions. This sim is a good example of how bitching gets you nowhere - patch. Many of us have taken our "bitch" to a higher place with minuscule response in the past. So take the advise of others and get the Intel chip, what the hell is a Mac anyway!P I don't mean to sound rude in this matter you DO have my sympathies. I guess I'm speaking out of some years of frustration, salut! [This message has been edited by Psi (edited 04-22-2001).] IP: Logged |

What level of Mac is required for FighterStorm? Gx or maybe something lower?I just picked a PPC 604 200 MHz from the eBay tree, and would buy FighterStorm if it ran on the machine. Danke. IP: Logged |

The reason the mac version wont be compaitble is they redid all the network code. I bet you Mac guys will have better multiplayer then us PC guys so i wouldn't complain to much.------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin Brought to you by the Campaign for a better Pacific. FS Hangar IP: Logged |

hey gang, man, i hear all of the mac pain. I've been here since the beginning, brothers, when parsoft had all of us beta testers split into squadrons and everything (I was in a P-51 squadron, sob). I've actually bought the PC version and am considering getting a refurbished Dell to run it on. I'm also on the Macplay beta team. Last communique from Matt Tremblay said they had a major bug in the code and had to start near fresh. My guess is they may be weighting their options of whether or not to continue. Silence from Macplay could be a baaaaad thing. But I also read on the MacGamersLedge that Bill H. is under contract to finish SDOE and they want to have it for sale at MacWorld in NYC in July. stay tuned.... IP: Logged |
