A little present for the SDOE community. Now let's see where we can take it...

Cool... Are you going to provide the ability to animate DOFs while in the program? Also, what about a ruler for measuring length and something to measure angles....

Ok, how exactly is this all going to work? Will this be like an OPS type of program but more advanced? Can you do mesh editing AND model property editing in the same program? Enlighten me here.

Snickers, what you see is the bare bones for an opensource project. Visual DOF editing may be a desired feature.

I initially want to concentrate on the stuff that OPS and OL tools don't do. Or whatever any developers want to play with...

Oh yeah, rulers and such, what like this?

ArgonV,

Again see my reply to Snickers. Meshing editing is nice but everyone has AC3D and 3D Studio max for that. It may come in time tho.

See

OpToolKit project goals

for info about what the short/long term goals are.

Still looking for a way to measure angles... PBY angle of incidence is 6 degrees, engines are 3 degrees less. It would be nice to measure..

Momma Tiger takes one swipe at Dubba, and the pieces peel off one by one just like in the cartoons Then she says, "Yup, 5 slices..."

wtg, OPS doesn't run on NT4 because OPS used Direct3DRM version 7+?? and NT4 only supports DirectX V3 although I have heard of a hack that can patch NT4 to use DirectX7 you could try looking round the net for that ( If you are feeling lucky (punk) and are at home with installing / troubleshooting nt4 )

I think optoolkit should be OK on NT4 as it uses openGL not D3D.

That is good to hear!

I am reluctant to hack the work PC just in case the Tech support guys come sniffing! I don't like implementing stuff unless I know I can 'sanitise' it afterwards! I got a hacked system admin password so I can install stuff, but Dx7 is a bit hard to explain.....unless it makes Access run faster...

Hehehe.... Is there any need for you to "stress test" the system? Games that are graphically intesive are often the best diagnostic out there, at least to prove that something works. Heck when I was doing Tech Support, a customer had an issue they though might be realted to network traffic. The director of tech support came down and wanted to know if there was anyway to simulate this... As a result, we had an 8 player game of Descent II for 3 hours on company time!!!
