Gustavo, I can't tell from the picture you posted, but make sure you don't use the A6M2's cowling. The A6M3 Hamp used a tapered cowling similar to the A6M5, but without the radial exhaust stacks. The line drawings that Razer posted show the cowling lines perfectly.Again, it's hard to tell, but you may need to round off the edges of the wing tips if you haven't already done so.Strangely enough, most Hamps actually had rounded wing tips. The earlier production A6M3's had clipped wing tips, giving the Hamp a slightly better roll-rate and max TAS than the A6M2.However, its climb-rate was significantly lower as was its combat radius. The clipped-wing A6M3 was known as the 'Model 32'.
According to records, 343 A6M3 'Model 32' a/c were built (<40% of total production)before production was switched to the A6M3 'Model 22' which saw the return of the rounded wing tips.Range was improved by the addition of a 45litre fuel tank in each wing.
The A6M3 carried 100 rounds for each 20mm cannon compared to the 60 rounds per gun carried by the A6M2.There was a sub-variant of the A6M3 named the 'Model 22a', and it used higher muzzle velocity 20mm wing cannons with longer barrels, similar to that used by the A6M5.
Anyway, IMHO, the clipped-wing 'Model 32'Hamp would be far more interesting than the 'Model 22'.Its squared off wing tips are unique amongst Zekes, and it would stand out compared to both SDOE's current Zero's - the A6M2 and A6M5.Otherwise we'd have an A6M3 that looked very similar to an A6M5 without radial exhaust stacks.
In case anyone is interested, I have speed & climb charts for the Zeke, but only for the A6M5a.I'm trying to get graphs for the A6M2, A6M3 and A6M6 at the moment.I'm still waiting for information from a Japanese friend of my brother on that, so it's not up to me, but I'd be happy to send the charts to anyone who needs them.
