Sorry to pester you all again, but what was the solution to getting the VooDoo 5 card to work with FSSDOE with Glide ON?I just freeze the whole system up as it tries to initialize: requires HDD reset, Ctrl Alt Del doesn't even work. I have tried with my screen res at 800*600 and the game res at 800*600 and 640*480 with the same result for each. Thanks for reminding me (too far back for me to catch it with "search") Regards, MW IP: Logged |

1. Install one of the Beta-Patches (I recommend the 1.51.65 because most of the custom made planes work with it) 2. Switch your desktop color-bandwith to 32 bit 3. Enable at least 2-sample-antialiasing for glide (Use the according menu display/voodoo/properties/antialiasing or so) 4. Start the app.exe. Should work now ;DIP: Logged |

You don't have to run one of the patchs as long as your desktop is in 32bit and v'sync is disabled.------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin FS Hangar IP: Logged |

No patch? Sure? The shiped version only allowed glide in 800x600, I thought. The V5 can manage 1600x1200 on-the-go, what a waste to run the game in SVGA.IP: Logged |

Oh, yea if you want to go higher then 800x600 then yes you need the patch.IP: Logged |

I ran SDOE from day one at 1024 x768 in glide on a V2 SLI. So it was not limited to 800 x 600.------------------ Yardstick painted this IP: Logged |

Hello everybody,Thanks for the advice regarding Glide and VooDoo5. I am close to getting up and going by setting desktop to 32 Bit colour! So Easy! BUT: Game loads and runs. Using the Kellenston Special Fuels project with just FSSODE with 150 patch. Planes fly well, but after an explosion or close encounter with enemy, suddenly the overcast sky become striped alternating with ground textures (!), all the lettering on the HUD and other screen lettering turns to meaningless blobs or disappears, and the gunsight becomes opaque (coloured like an oil slick). This is true witn 1.04.00 and 1.04.01 Beta and Omega's drivers. Where is the V.Sync control which Razer has suggested I turn off? Could my card be naff? I have yet to try the game with Build 65 and with Direct3D to see if these effects are reproducible. Wife getting sick of this! Any other thoughts? Regards, Mark W. I am thinking about sending card back to shop and swapping for a good nVida model, and running twin Voodoo2 SLI if I can get them as piggybacks. Hence the urgency to get this sorted out, or not...

Fixed now, and many thanks to all.I have got Figher Squadron to work in VooDoo5 by limiting the texture memory to 2MB using Voodoo 4+ Runner. No problems since. Salute MW IP: Logged |

But i couldn't find any solution for that what the hell did you do? please help me. Windows version? Fsdoe version? Patch version? DirectX version? And driver version?I also have some freez pb when i try to play online during the lobbying time? ANy body got an idea about that? ------------------ -=BAB=-lfbpro IP: Logged |

Man I was about to give out a correct fix, I must be getting smarter. I also believe that if you stay with those 1.04 drivers you'll be able to run with screen at 16 bit, but if you use any of the newer voodoo drivers you'll have to run at 32 bit. Thats the way it is with my 3000 agp anyways.IP: Logged |
