Hi. I agree with Pachy. Normandy. We have all these landing craft, troop ships and aircraft with invasion stripes but no place to invade. Imagine german tanks hiding behind hedge rows while the Canadian Army and the Second Tac AF kicks their asses.IP: Logged |

Don't know if it's possible but a terrain with real mountains would add a lot....snow capped and high. Europe is more than the green rolling countryside with a few hills that we have so far.IP: Logged |

The easiest one is to make an desert terrain,by using a repainted tundra. Some buildings must be replaced and palmtrees are needed and maybe a few Oasis. So if anyone wants to paint it i will do the rest.Berlin is not possible, this takes to much time to build such a big city. Ok,i will wait and watch what you prefer. Please post! Rendsburger IP: Logged |

I vote for all of the above!Rend, If you really want to sink your teeth into something completely NEW, we allready have a terrain mesh and a texture. All it needs are a few airfields, towns and a few ski runs! Nat, if you're reading this, would you mind if we unleashed the terrain we were using for Stormirds? (r.i.p.) IP: Logged |

Now, Gustang has an idea. Spain. Imagine the stuff the talented aircraft makers could do with that! What the hell was that German biplane that Adolf Galland started in? An Me something or other. Norway has potential too. Gloster Gladiators! I really need to develope some aircraft building talent.[This message has been edited by Sunray (edited 04-13-2001).] IP: Logged |

How about a better European terrain over germany like berlin or something. Though an all Desert map would be cool for a larger part of africa. The ideas are limitless so it's really up to you on what you want to see next. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin FS Hangar IP: Logged |

I'd like to see a flat desert area too, easy to make, imagine the fights with the ground objects online, tanks invading, halftracks, have some bombers fly over, that'd be cool, in Africa somewhere ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |

I vote for Norway with Fiords with steep mountain sides and some coastal plains for airfields, we then could do Lanc attacks on the Tirpitz (by bouncing bomb as well), Norway invasion, shipping attacks by Mozzie and Beaufighter , dogfights in the Fiords, attacks on Heavy Water installations etc etc. In 2 versions, winter and summer . I was a Heinkel 51. He later flew Henschel 123's in the ground attack role in Poland and finally got transferred to fighters in time for France. IP: Logged |

I'm with Razer on this, anything Pacific and in particular, Pearl Harbor. If we could get some real low detail ships and set 'em around it would be sweet. Of course FR's would be the concern. I have flown the CFSII version and it is beautiful but sloooooooow. Of course alot of P-61's flew out of Siapan. But anything with palm trees and hula skirts would be nice :-) http://www.rcwarbirds.com/bw.htm

The problem with Pearl Harbor is that there was only one significant action there in whole war. Seems like a lot of work for the terrain builders for a limited amount of missions; but then again it's only one island and a lot of water so maybe it isn't so much work?Didn't someone do a generic Pacific island? It could be used for Pearl, Midway and any other Pacific missions we might want to fly. Too bad we don't have a utility that starts with just water with half a dozen island types and you could just place them where you want. IP: Logged |

Actually, there wer multiple fields used (and I believe not on the same island). Pearl would be nice for a couple of reasons. Is not so much that many events took place there (as you said, only one....) But it was a very major event. Also, by using multiple islands, you set up the possibility of "what if..." And face it when push comes to shove thats what this really is. "What if YOU were a pilot in WWII....) I don't think the terrain matters. If you dont like Peal, how about the Japanese islands....
