I am aware of two people, Da Jug Head and Starfire, who are no longer able to post here because of some apparent glitches in the password query and registration mechanisms. Hawk and I are aware of the problem and working on it, but if you are in the same boat as DJH and Starfire, I would appreciate it if you would email me, just so I have an idea of how many people this is affecting. Razer - the issue is that we're kinda a ship without a captain here. To put it frankly, I have no idea who's paying the bills to keep us live, and with MH and Mighty's work moving as it has, it isn't clear who even has the authority to go for, say, a forum upgrade. We're on the problem, but in the meantime I was hoping that those who know they can't post (Sunray...  ) would contact me so I could make sure they were aware of whats going on, and didn't quietly disappear from the SDOE scene for good.Werner ------------------

slow for me for about 2 weeks. Takes about
1 minute to move from page to page. That's

I have emailed Micheal and asked if there was anyone at Inertia that will help us. So far no reply.I have looked at the control panel and I cannot change or mess with passwords. As soon as MH emails me I will see if I can get through to someone that will work with us on this problem. IP: Logged |

may be we should start an emergency back up plan incase this board goes pear shaped, say someone starts a mboard on their site, or even a just a guestbook, just one of those crap ones, nothing to fancy so we know were everyone is and can regroup.IP: Logged |

Werner - I have had a glitch occur for the last couple days when posting but it does not prevent me from doing so. After I hit the "Submit" button I get the "please wait while we send you back to your topic" page but it has the following on the bottom half of the page:Could not connect to server.
The server does not respond appropriately.. it may not be an SMTP server.

Server Error: ""
It works just fine and sends me back to the topic but I think this is probably related to the other issues. I wonder if it is something as simple as server space... UBB does odd things when space gets low. Maybe it's time to prune some of the old stuff.

l'il b - if you're using a download accelerator, turn it off. If not, I have no clue why it wouldn't be working. The files are all there, the links are working... Email me and let me know what browser you're using if you don't use an accelerator. I got an email today pointing out that my address isn't in my postings any more, and while I took it out as a result of what turned out to be a prank by someone I know, I never got around to putting it back in. Anyways I don't intend to, and my email is posted next to Hawk's on the forum summary, but for the purposes of this thread, keepinga@cadvision.com It has also come to my attention that a post at simHQ about smolensk and WWI in SDOE has generated three digits worth of traffic to one of our community's sites in the last week, and that same post had a link here, so if you came from that posting, and want to post here but can't, this means you too!!. Don't believe what the locals tell you, my bark is worse than my bite I swear.  Werner P.S. I got another email about download probs at AF this week, and it was an accelerator at fault there, but if you're not using any kind of download app other than your index finger and mouse button, I would appreciate hearing from you. ------------------

Stark, I get the same thing aswell... Ben happening on and off for the past 2 weeks. I thought it was the suns solar flares I swear. Werner, more info on this post that generated that much traffic please... Whos site was it? IP: Logged |

werner, I thought about the dload accelerator too (i use go!zilla, not that big accelerator tho...), but when I try to save it w/ right mouse button it opens the dialog windows saying it's starting to dload the .zip file, but then when it asks me to save it w/ a name, it shows me a HTML file...
it usually does this when there's something wrong w/ servers... the strangest thing is that it started to do it since your latest big upload...li'l b did u get my thumbs up 4 the upgrade thing for what regards Nations or whateva isn't about open plane or 3d modeling? IP: Logged |

I´ve the same problems with
1.the "server error" sometimes happened here if i post messages
and
2.The d/l problems at AF.If Gozilla told me this is a HTML site i hit the send back to server button and then i get the d/l site from Simfiles and all works fine.Rendsburger PS: I have an Idea,maybe we can need a Ringlist with all Email adresses for the worst case( closing this site). IP: Logged |

Got an email back from MH and here is the gist of it.He said that the board is being run off a 56k connection at the moment. They are trying to get a new ISP for DSL but for now this is what we have.
He also gave me a contact at Inertia and I have emailed him with our concerns.

Werner, here's the prob, I have Gozilla workin, as I left click the link it opens the gozilla dload and makes a 3K dload...
so i right click it , it opens a window and gozilla automatically opens a dialog window where I select "send it back to browser", then it loads the simfiles page where I can dload the skin (even if a pair of links don't work, especially that beautiful yellow nosed emil !)li'l b IP: Logged |
