I forgot all about it then when i saw a post about it i tried it out and all the test missions i had totally rock now with this cam. I can test the new planes and watch some way cool combat with it. I made this gif this morning of the N1K2 fly-by. It's pretty cool but would be better if the switching level was right. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin FS Hangar [This message has been edited by Razer (edited 04-06-2001).] IP: Logged |

Just imagine this - squadwar mission (so your pulse is up a few pegs anyways), you're driving a jeep and then all of a sudden you hear a low rumbling from the distance... You drive behind some crates and turn around, taking control of the MG. Over the horizon, you see one plane at first, then two, then three... four 109s escorting a very loud Ju88 bomber. As the planes fly over, the allied planes dive into the formation and a dogfight ensues. Man! It would be like being on the bridge in SPR when those Mustangs go over! Doppler's going to be sweet...Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

Nice! Just wondering, 'cause I haven't done the patch yet...can the cam be set to run upon weapon fire? In effect, creating the gun camera we are used to seeing in the newsreels.....IP: Logged |

Sunray, apart from having the slight throttle control problem with some controllers which can be fixed by altering a few lines in keyboard.inp, the only other thing I've noticed is that the control tower view is sunken into the ground. Nevertheless, imo, the latest patch (1.5.2.6) is quite cool and I can't wait for the final release! ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |

In another post Bryan indicated that there will be no "final release". This is an ongoing work-in-progress which will evolve over a period (a long period with lot's of improvements I hope ) of time. Regarding an online standard Bryan said it's just a matter of the community deciding on one version and using it until they want to move on to another version. IP: Logged |

Sorry to be such a pain with this, but I installed the patch, and added the line specified above (the shift F8 thing) but I can't seem to find any output files ascosiated with it after trying to use it in game.Do I need to set it to be used in conjuction with hypersnap or something? I've read the readme that came with the patch but no mention of the camera or its use. Any help will be appreciated! ------------------ Fly Well, Dub Visit the Wing Walkers IP: Logged |

WW, if you added the line to your regular keyboard.ini file you won't see any effect. You also have to add it to the keyboard.ini file in the Patch folder. Maybe this is what's happening. Dumb me, this is what I did at first.IP: Logged |

Also WW, the fly-by view doesn't record any screenshots on it's own if that's what you meant on your post, it just displays a sweeping fly by view of the your plane. You can repeatedly press the Z key to record as the plane goes by or activate the automatic recording feature in your keyboard.inp file and hit Shift Z. SDOE will then start taking continuous screenshots and you can then compile them into a video or gif as Razer did at the start of this thread. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |

Doh... here's what happened. I made the mod and DIDN'T SAVE... looking back at the ini showed my folly, re-edited, and now the flyby (much like F7 in RB3D) works well. Thank you for the cleariification on that Harman. I was using Hypersnap to make captures for for Glide, but this Z key thing... didn't know it existed. Are you saying that SDOE has built in screen capture ability by bouncing the Z key (one touch per frame) or toggling (touch once to activate, touch again to deactivate)? This would work better I believe, because if I press the hypersnap capture key too often in quick succesion, I'll CTD. ------------------ Fly Well, Dub Visit the Wing Walkers IP: Logged |

WWDubya,SDOE currently has two different modes for screen capture: Z: Which will take ONE screenshot per keypress in whatever resolution you were running SDOE in at the time and it will be saved in .bmp format in the main SDOE directory. Shift Z: This feature is toggle controlled, meaning that when you press it once, it will start recording a series of screenshots automatically to the SDOE directory. It will keep recording until you press Shift Z again. Be careful when using this not to keep it running for too long because you will eventually run out of disk space. When video recording is on, the frame rate in SDOE will drop sharply, but you will still be able to control your plane albeit a little more slowly. By default, video recording is not enabled in SDOE, to enable it, open keyboard.inp and find the line: ;sysToggleVideoRec = Shift Z Remove ; from the beginning of the line, save and close. You can now start "recording" in SDOE and you can even make avi videos out of the saved .bmps using Animation Shop 2 which is part of Paintshop Pro 6, as I have done and I have many video footage from SDOE on my site (URL in sig) ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online
