Gustavo, do you plan to rebuild the plane or just paint skin? Is it the same Razorback given by Razer? Don't worry, I'm just asking, I do not want to build it, I'm just interested to paint her. By the way, the P47D skin can be used on her.------------------ Bonne chance et bon vol ! Arrowbase http://www.shemzone.com IP: Logged |

I think you'll find Razer was or is working on a Razerback Jug. Not that having two would be a bad thing.IP: Logged |

Gustavo, to make sure no one has started or finished a plane you want to make just go to the search feature and type in the model than search all the archived forums. I did this when I was unsure of a P26 in progress.------------------ Hawk Forum manager and bar keep www.rcwarbirds.com/classicairracing.htm IP: Logged |

Here, for example: http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/004124.html It was far from finished, and Razer was looking for someone to finish it. I don't know if it is being worked on right now though.[This message has been edited by Pachy (edited 03-27-2001).] IP: Logged |

Thanks Pachy, I went offline for most of last night to work on the P-51B.
Gustavo,
I modified the P-47D to have the Razorback cockpit and did some modeling on it. The new cockpit is completely crap since i really didn't take any time working on it. That's one reason why i released the model so someone that wanted to spend the time on it could.
We've also had a discussion on this plane in another tread where yardstick pointed out if would mean less work if the plane was turned into a P-47D-20 Razorback since the P-47D-25 Bubble FM was pretty much the same thing. Once this plane was done it would be a simple 30 mins job to convert it over to a C model and change the flight model.
This came up before and Roadtoad was going to make a Razorback version from scratch. I was totally against it from the start. The reason i was against it was this game would have turned into CFS and FS2000 real fast. We would have two variants that looked nothing a like. People model planes differently and the planes wouldn't look right sitting next to each other. That's why i took the D model and did some changing.
If you can take the model i did and spend the time working on the cockpit that would be great! That way our planes are consistent and we aren't just another CFS rip off.
Jug was asking to make a team to work on it and i offered to do some more work but then started working on the P-51B and never got around to it. I can send you the zip with everything in it if you want. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin FS Hangar

Gustavo, here's the current plan. I started modifying the P-47C razerback file references to be a P-47D razerback. Some FM canges were also made as the FM values weren't the same as the bubble top version. I also changed the loadout to reflect what the earlier D models were capable of. Razer wanted to change the canopy frame and cockpit to be correct so I sent it to him. Once the model is corrected, I'm going to pick up the FM again. After the D razerback is complete, I was going to ask someone to alter the model to be correct for a C model. Then I was going to work on the loadouts and FM for the C. As busy as Razer is, if you'd like to do the modeling conversions so he can concentrate on the P-51B, B-26 and other projects, have him send it to you. When you're done making it a proper D razerback you can send it to me and I can get back to work on the FM. After the D modifications are made, you can do the model alterations on the D razorback to make it a C and we can work on the FM and loadouts for the C version. ------------------ "Where'd he GO!?!?" thunk-thunk-thunk-zing-OUCH That answered my question [This message has been edited by Da Jug head (edited 03-27-2001).] IP: Logged |

I didn't know about the existence of this project. Therefore, I retire of the same one, and I wish to Razer luck with their P-47 razorback. IP: Logged |

Gustavo,Instead of retiring the project, why not work together? I'll send you the unmodified Razorback. you can either fix the current model to make it a P-47C, or import the model you were working on. Then you can send it back to me and I can get to work on the FM for the C version. Does this sound like a good idea to you?

Sorry guys, with the new P-51B and my other projects i just don't have the time to work on the P-47. I looked at it but i feel the old stuff i did was crap and needs to be completely redone. I do want to see this plane flying in the PP but it's going to need a lot fo work, Maybe Gustavo can model the new canopy instead of the whole plane.
