Are there any graphics cards that go kaplooey with SDOE?

I'm going to buy a new system and I'd like to know what I should avoid.

Avoid ATI cards, they have driver issues, their OpenGL support sucks. And unless they have a hefty CPU backing them up, their framerate sucks.

Case in point- a Radeon 32MB DDR board with a 333MHZ celeron tops out at about 22 FPS and averages around 13. An old PCI TNT board with 16MB of ram tops out at about 35 and averages about 18 (In the same system}.
