I hate to ask for something from the gods of plane building, but …

While the Korea era might not yet be filled out with planes yet (there is/are some like the excellent F-86), I’m already kinda itching (literally) for a collection of Vietnam equipment. I don’t think any flight sims have recently taken on this era (perhaps because of the political sensitivities/memories), and the period holds a strange fascination for me… mostly because the equipment was sort of odd looking during that time (a blend of menacing and functional), and perhaps because I barely remember that time (born in Q2 1967).

I realize a proper Vietnam era mission would require new terrain, a huge undertaking to make jungle.

I’d just like to fly around in a Forward Air Controller (FAC) plane, and designate targets for Thuds while dodging Hanoi Jane’s AAA.
