ya I know i'm late gettin' MH's Build65.
Man does it work better for me! FR way up!
10-20 frames higher. I can run glide @ 1280x
1024!! No more visual anomalies on distant terrains (esp. the dover cliffs) Cool fog effect! and of course the ability to change fog and sky this cured the problems I had hoped the V5 would fix...I didnt get the V5
..Now I dont care..sdoe looks better to me now than I ever thought it could. I used to use D3D cause I couldnt do glide higher than 800X600. I just wondered how many newbies could benefit from this too? this is where ya get it if ya want it ( ya I know you "long timers" already have it )
I have the Beta5 It works for me!
ya I do get flickering gunsights and some blocky clouds...but all in all its better I.M.O http://dragonseye.com/FSBeta/download.html

The just released patch is based off this software, so get that and try it out. The only thing really worse in the patch against beta5, is throttle support on some joysticks which we are trying to sort out now. Apart from that it should have all of the same goodies!

Plus the fact that you cant use many of the planes because of CTDs... BUT progress IS progress and Im glad to see it. It will probably be a year till the final SDOE patch is all sorted out... I know how debugging can be plus it sometimes takes that long for real game developers to come out with a patch.

My take is this: Have one "official" SDOE install for flying (On a regular basis) and have one "Beta" SDOE install for the patches Bryan and team put out. That way you dont have to worry about it.

Remember this is only beta stuff right now. We don't recommend that this be used for anything other than testing, although we do need it tested online.

Which of all the last one is? the beta 5, the build 73 or the build 76.
Does this replace to the beta 6.4 of MH?

Well, one thing I would be really interested in is if the same planes CTD in MH's Build 65. As I said before that patch is the same code, and while I can understand to some degree how DX stuff might be different with different DX SDK versions etc, the plane thing is all OP Code. (Actually there is another factor... )

I will get around to checking out these CTD's soon. In reality its easy to see why the CTD with the debugger, but its just finding the time to sit down and do it.

Brian, the planes that CTD with your latest beta do not CTD with Build 65. eg B17G, ju88g7b, he163, Go229 (PP6.0), p51d

Now I only had time to fly one plane today the SE5a with this patch. I found the wires at certain points flash and break at the cross points, the smoke trails from gun fire inside the cockpit look like distored "heat wave" streams (once out side the cockpit they turn into smoke again), and the sound once I turned on the autopilot soon became distorted, also when I entered the mission I was not centerd in the screen I pressed the "num" 5 and centered ok, my joystick hat sticks to the view and will not return to the front veiw at all, I need to press "num" 8 to get to center again, I'm having the same "no throttle" problem too. I have a VooDoo 5500 agp, and a PCI Creative Labs SB-Live, 250MB Rambus Ram, Intel VC820 system board, Pentium III 1.0 Ghz CPU, OS Win98 SE, MS Sidewinder FF-pro (USB), running the video at 800x600 16bit in the game. I would like to test this online too.

Von,

The best place to post your patch bug report is at the link Sv posted above. I'm sure they'll appreciate such a detailed report.

Yeah...alright....ANY help with the various throttle problems would be GREAT. By the way although my Saitek X36 analog throttle gets NO response in SDOE....my USB X36 throttle works like a charm!?!?!?
