There was a problem on the 3DGW mail server that caused a pile of old messages to get resent from a backup mailserver that had been disabled and therefore people recieved several old messages. It was not an attack. If you are so upset about it I reccomend that you remove yoursel from the mailing list so that you can ensure you never ever take part in a mishap again. I provide a free service to you. I noticed that you didn't bother to email anyone about it you just did the norm and went ot the board to whine. I get a lot of emails from people praising me but when there is a problem several of you feel you have to publicly vent it. I would personally apreciate you would take the time to inform me of the problem as well. Then you can come post your flames here.

Think maybe I read into his topic too much ?
Attacks would imply that it was deliberate ? Yes no ?

DOgma as way of explaination Gustavo is from Argentina and uses the Babel fish translator to translate from his native spanish to english, Babel fish is the best we have got but translates without picking up nuances etc. Im sure he meant well. And thanks for all the help you do give us DOgma, we do take it for granted too much.

I apologize if I sound like I am chewing him out for posting. However, I just don't understand where posting this on a public forum is more productive than reporting/complaining to the appropriate party.

For 4 years our web servers have given an error page that tells you the file you were looking for cannot be found and to report the error to the admin and provides his email address. To this date I have had two people email me and I bet there have been literally thousands of people who have seen this message due to sites posting bad links back.

In my opinion it is my duty as some sort of repayment for the free content that I take in every day on the web to let a webmaster know when something out of the ordinary is obviously broken. Certainly not to publicly post it on a message board. To me that is just pointless.

So withough singling anyone out there is my food for thought for the day. I have spent hundreds of hours working on what goes on behind the scenes at SimFiles to make it the best I can and the complaints have far outweighed the praise. And with the dot.com advertising market they way it has been for the last year it hasn't even paid for its own hosting costs. I have maintained this out of my own pocket. So if you see and error or have a complaint send it to where it matters, the webmaster. This doesn't just go for SimFiles either. The web works the same way all over the globe and at the rate its going I can see why people are going to subscription based sites.

Hello DOgma,
No doubt you can be pissed about that, and we you certainly dont get enough thanks for the great service you provide. So here's the occasion : since I suscribed to your site, I'm so pleased to get all your alerts that I've stopped looking around to get the updates and I include your site as the top reference every time I talk or write or mail about flight sims in general and FS-SDOE in particular. For all you do : many thanks
One last remark : I'm not an English speaker either and somewhat new to internet forums as well, and both this makes a great difference : I think one has to assume that the other guy writes in good faith (is that the correct expression ?) because finding the right way to say what you want in a foreign language is not always easy.
Thanks again for making simfiles the great source it is !

I apologize him if I have offended him, it was not that my intention.
The word "it attacks" I sought to use it in a humorous way, not in an aggressive way. It didn't bother me to receive the messages, I only wanted to know if to somebody but it had happened him the same thing.
My friend Commando excused me referring to the difficulty that it is generated by the difference of languages, and I thank it to him; but I won't put this like excuse.
I know what is to dedicate many hours to SDOE, very well I have lost many hours of sleeping working with the airplanes. Therefore, it would never seek to only offend somebody that works for the community, for the satisfaction of making it.
I he am also very grateful to Sim Files for the valuable service that offers us, and I also have there my airplanes.
My objective in the community is to make friends, non enemies.

d0gmA, I hope you accept my excuses, and that it is not angry with me.
