This happens on my computer if the sound acceleration is turned up full (4/4).Try this:
* In Windows, right-click the speaker icon next to your clock in the system tray and click "Adjust Audio Properties".
* In the "Playback" section of the resulting dialog box, click "Advanced Properties". Select the "Performance" tab and move the first slider (Hardware Acceleration) down to 2/4. It should say "Basic Acceleration..." in the description text below the slider.
* Also, make sure the slider below it (Sample rate conversion quality) is set to "Good", not "Best".
