Great addition!  Tell me tho... what is that invisible bomb object that you go to when you press F4 to view the paratrooper? And why do the chutes disappear after so long? IP: Logged |

ArgonV, this is an invisble bomb, itīs needed to activate the airfols and for AI, if i remember rightly.I donīt know exactly why the chutes disappear,maybe this is hardcoded.Raider tried something out to have more lifetime of the chutes,but AI didnīt liked that!Rendsburger IP: Logged |

Couple notes about the paratroopers development.First, the parachute disappears after 60 seconds, leaving the paratrooper to free fall to his death. This can be prevented by adding (obKillDelay -10) to the parachute, however then the AI will no longer drop the paratroopers on their own. I even tried to add this as an obExec/Func after the parachute detaches, still no dice. Second, I added the GI model that I was working on to the parachute. I was able to switch to the GI model while in the air, but could only see from the GI viewPt. I could not take over (move arms or fire the gun) This is a real bummer. (going to keep trying) Third, I reattached the obRope points and could press F4 and watch the paratrooper float down. The problem here is that the plane explodes after dropping 8 or 9 paratroopers. (I think this can be worked out) I know we can still improve this, it is just going to take more time.

Raider, instead of adding obKilLDelay a negative number, how bout adding obKillDelay and some large positive number? Example: obKillDelay 5000Also, isnt there a way where you can get rid of that bomb object completely? IP: Logged |
