I might be wrong, but I thought Zur became discouraged in doing further work on her because of SDOE's limitations with modeling Jet engines etc.

Zur will straighten me out if I'm wrong.

Well...

The reasoning is actually "two-fold"...

1.) I'm been head-down modelling the PZL P.11c for IL2 (user flyable add-on).

2.) and Maury did a damn fine job of showing me exactly how poorly FS (in it's current form) models jet-aircraft aerodynamics...

(So if your gonna hang anyone... hang him)

I personnaly still fly it quite a bit.

If there is enough interest in this bird... I have a handfull of things I've partially worked on that would/could warrent a fresh release.

You folks still interested?

I'd say keep going. When stormbirds is released this will probably be easy to port over. Even though it's a beta, it looks as good as the F-86 on the cover of Mig Alley Ace.

If someone has a MiG in the works, the interest would sky rocket.

There is a MIG, somewhere..... I had one 'till my HD re-format...

Zur, I fly the Sabre in its CA-27 form all the time. If you have some improvements....release away!

If anyone wants some RAAF CA-27 skins, go here

Cheers,

AGAS 5

Hi all,

yup, I was working on a MiG, an early though very old alpha version is still available:
http://www.camtp.uni-mb.si/camtp/veble/sims/Mig15.zip

I got some great photos for the cockpit from Karaya2, but editing them into the actual plane is something I still haven't quite managed to do successfully. I've also been working on something completely different lately (not SDOE related), and I've somehow never got around to get to do it fully.

Maybe under enough pressure I would buckle and finsih the plane up .

Actually I'm convinced that we can fix one aspect of the problem right away in a few minutes, if any of the OP gods are willing to try this.

Simply replace every "jet" with two engines that are 1/2 the power, weight and fuel consumption. Spin them in opposite directions. Presto, no torque!

I would love to see this and Geckos MIG (which is if I understand correctly the first and only plane to be built from scratch....) brought to completeion....

These two planes with the YAK and the P51 are all that is needed for Korea campaigns...

I had thought the small map sizes were also a consideration for jets in FS. As a
relative new-comer, I don't really know if there has been any debate/headway on this
particular issue...

I believe pre-Vietnam jets are still quite viable with the small'ish theaters.

It appears there is still some good interest in the Sabre after all! (groan)...

Ok, here's my plate at the moment in order of priority:

1.) PZL P.11c for IL-2
2.) FS P.11c conversion to P.24 (by request)
3.) F-86F Sabre

As I have bit's n pieces of things to update the Sabre... I might be able to expedite a new release fairly quickly.

I'll keep you all posted.
