i read this from a post about the new corsair.quote-Wow, 9 Corsairs with dead pilots circling just before the target area. The flak took them out before the could get over their target. Definitely not a plane to take over a CG. Don't worry, even B-29 pilots get killed enmass over this target. I think I have about 12 flak panzer and a 37mm AA for effect. Defending Abbeville there is a AA halftrak.
I did note the Corsair is a FPS eater(9 B-17's chime in at 9-10fps, 9 B-29 at 10-11, 9 Lancs 8-10, 9 Corsairs 6-7fps).-unquote

Biggles,This was about the first beta of the new Corsair. Since then Jedi passed the file to Razer and he did some of his OPS magic that reduced the frame rate hit significantly and fixed some other bugs. Jedi also went back to work once Razer was done and did some more work on it. Try the new beta, Jedi wants people to test it and report any bugs.

i started one, then abandoned it. whirlwind started one and got it flying. he sent it to me ( it was quite early ). then i left for a few months, lost track of it. i last heard that a number of people were on it. can't remember who.IP: Logged |

I think Whirlwind said the glass, turrets, and gun pods were going to take a LOT of time. Last I had heard was that Nat (I think) was picking this up but it wasnt his first priority. Is there ANY game out there that has a flyable B-29? This would be another notch on the stick if we had it in the game - plus I would love to fly it. =)------------------

with that many polys it would be better to just start over and make a new B-29 model.Bombers are still hard to do but are easier with the work everyone is doing so i'm thinking a group would be able to get more done. I myself can't have any more projects so you guys are on your own.  CFS2 has a flying B-29 but i think SDOE would be cool with it but you would need to make it pretty low in the poly count since it's bigger then the 17. You would have to put it on only one or two tifs to keep FR's up and no more then 1600 polys with cockpit. But that's still pushing it since SDOE wasn't designed to push a lot of polys. I'm sure 4 or 5 LOD would also help with the lasy level being only a few polys that look something like the plane. [This message has been edited by Razer (edited 03-04-2001).] IP: Logged |

Already built a new model!Ran a few tests in game based on the previous attempts to build one. New model needs texturing, plus a million and one other things....
