That looks sweet! All motor and a seat. I love the look of the purebred racing machines. But I don't see any armament or bomb racks. ------------------ silas Demon's Runway Fortes fortuna adiuvat Fear, that's the other guy's problem. Looks like you got the texture problem sorted She is one sweet looking plane, a flying hot-rod and a handful to fly....I reckon you couldn't build a smaller plane around the Wright radial and still get it in the air! WELL DONE HAWK! IP: Logged |

The FM on this one should be interesting. If close to reality most of us are going to auger in, assuming we can get off the ground. Sounds like fun. IP: Logged |

This plane is my first effort in SDOE and it is far from done but I am cramin' for finals and who knows, maybe a month? If I can get this one swallowed than I would like to build more racers for SDOE. There are some very cool 1930's racers, just go do a search for the Hall Bulldog to see how far out they get. As for racing, YES! If all goes well I hope race these babies with you guys. Building this plane is real treat. It is sort of like a drug, once you start you can't stop untill it looks right and flies right Two guys, SV and Wakeup Tailgunner, have been an increadible help to me and I am very, very thankfull. Well, back to work. IP: Logged |

Wow!!!!! Now we need the racing Spitfires and Mustangs! P.S. Sv, if one wanted, one could do the air race in that movie "Those Magnificant Men in their Flying Machines" for SDOE. [This message has been edited by ArgonV (edited 03-02-2001).] IP: Logged |

SV most air races are started in the air. In SDOE I am not sure how many could start from one airfield but racers could take off from several airfields and meet at one to begin the race. After you are at the main airfield you are briefed via Roger Wilco or some other com. and then you take off and fly for posistion. You then hit the starting pylon and fly a number of laps and land. When I held on line races for my racers in FS 98 we used RW for the start call and to call the turns. One guy was there only as an observer to count laps and check for cut pylons. Take off and landing counted as these planes were made only for speed, not landing. If you crashed on landing having won the race, you were disqualifed. On line racing is a big thrill if the planes are evenly matched. You must have matched planes or they will be spread out all over. The thrill is close passing going around a pylon. Hawk IP: Logged |

How much difference is there between a Hall Bulldog and a PZL P.11c? They look very similar to me... you could probably get away with a couple of tweaks to Zur's baby and have a nice Hall Bulldog in no-time flat!-Stark IP: Logged |

Hawk, If you haven't already seen it, i've got a book called 'The Air racer' by Charles A. Mendanhall.it has got 3 Views of just about ALL the air-racers from 1909 to the current reno racers. It's got Homebuilts, Stock military and modified stuff, all with plans, paint details and history's of the planes. Might come in handy for any of the obscure types. Give me a yell if you have any planes in mind! Biggles

Stark The Hall Springfield Bulldog racer has a radical gull wing and a fat body so should be made from scratch. I do want to build the bulldog again but will have to get better at this first.Biggles thank you, I do have that book and several others. That is the modelers choice for 3 views of racers. Something interesting though, his 3 views were all drawn by hand and when working with them as a background in your 3D program you will notice mismatching sides and other irregularaties. Back to work :-) IP: Logged |
