I'm not sure who did the Wildcat. I noticed it at Razer's site, and at SDOE Flightline with Falck listed as the author.

I would like to get my feet wet in Open Plane playing with the FM for this bird.

Does whoever started this have the performance data? Can you send me a copy?

Just one suggestion about the Wilcat, I think I remember you said that it used a manual device toraise the landing gear, like the Polikarpov I16. Would it be possible to use the I16's raise and lower gear sound for the F4F as well ? I think it would match the time it takes for the gear lower and rise as well as being more "accurate" than the standard sound.

Sailor....yes it is. Just copy the I-16's gear sound and paste it into your Wildcat's sound folder-- it works. I even added that sound to the Hurricane as well as they had to crank them down there AFAIK.

I've seen many Hurricanes fly (live and on film) and either the pilot can crank like an America's Cup winch monkey or the gear in fact is retracted by hydraulics

The wheels come up at exactly the same speed as a Spitfire. I've seen both take off in formation and the gear of both started to come up just after takeoff an was locked away in a matter of seconds.

I found no mention of the Hurricane's gear being manual in townsend's book about BoB, but may be he was partial about the plane
Anyway, got bored at work this morning and did a little bit of research with google, here are the links : http://www.ixpres.com/ag1caf/usplanes/american.htm?http://www.ixpres.com/ag1caf/usplanes/aircraft/disclaim.htm http://www.compass.dircon.co.uk/Wildcat.htm http://www.bosamar.com/f4f.html http://www.tgplanes.com/planfile.asp?idplane=37 http://www.warbirdalley.com/f4f.htm http://www.military.cz/usa/air/war/fighter/f4f/f4f_en.htm http://www.microworks.net/pacific/aviation/f4f_wildcat.htm

OK...so what you are saying is that AFAIK means I know nothing? You're probably right LOL I swear I read somewhere that there was one British plane that always bloodied a pilot's knuckles when cranking the gear. Anyone know which one it was?
