no problem, i'm having fun working on it. Heres another pic from a test mission last night.

I added new wheels, finished up the framing and thanks to Nat got the glass working.

Not sure what i'll do to it tonight.

I think Al is still upset since i didn't use the SM file that he had work on to get the gear DOFs fix. Argon had an old SM that he had worked on that had the gearpods and no props. The reason i didn't use his SM was that it had no gearpods, the props were totally screwed and other then that was pretty much the same SM but the one Argon had would mean less work in the long run to i went with Argons SM file.

AL, I tried to say i was sorry in the email I sent you. I've had people not use work I slaved over but you can't let it get to you. I'm only going to be working on the P40 for a week or so more then Raider and falck will have to take over. I still have the P-39, Ki-61, B-26, and a few others yet unnamed to do and I really can't be spending all my time on one plane.

Again, I'm sorry but the choice in SM files was for the good of the team so the plane would get done faster. Any and all attemps in using the SM you did just resulted in OPS crashing.

Every version of OPS I have (including all the way back to OPS b 00.07.08) crashed and I had to work on the props. Then Argon comes a long with an SM file he had on his hard drive that had the gears done and the gearpods still on which seem to have been lost a long the way and when I ran OPS, no props! This meant I wouldn't have to figure out whats wrong with the props I could just import new ones and start from scratch.

I have really enjoyed working on this plane. Its fun to fly and killer to use when attacking my Ki-61s! finally, another plane besides the P-38F that flew against the Hien.

Doh! Look Aladar my man, it was just a case of what was already done. Many many many moons ago when I helped out Falck a little, I Dofed the entire gear setup with pods and the pod doors and the gear holes. I still had to tweak them a bit since Razer found out that they didnt raise at the same time. Please dont be pissed. Just imagine if all that work I did was gone to waste? And I had it ALL done!

lets be honest here, if you do work for someone and they don't use it, thats just the way it goes, they are the builder and must ultimately decide whats best, and if it upsets you that your work isn't used then thats sad, but it doesn't mean it wasn't appreciated, we've all done work for others that in the end didn't make the cut, it's just the way it is.

Anyway, Later dude take care in whatever you go onto.. Bye!

Play nice!

Us plane builders (yes I can include myself in this group) are an artistic, creative, sensitive bunch and love what we do. We can work for days on one texture map and then find out we did it all wrong anyway (who me?)

The reward of seeing something you made, or help make, being used by people from all over this world and the thrill of flying your own creation makes it worth the late nights, eye strain headaches, carpal tunnel, wife neglect, ect.

So please be kind to each other plane builders and helpers. Think about the big picture (36 or bigger, 21 is not good enough anymore)

By the way before I get any farther I have recently become aware of how kind and helpful the open plane bunch are. I have been pestering and bugging two people until I feel they will come around and cut my connection but no, they ask for more!

Thank you so very much Sean and John for your persussion, optimism, and endless help.

Hawk

I'm not sensative, I just don't want posting my work on their site without any credit or link given, or changing any aspect of any of the things I've done or or or LOL

Truth be told though, I really don't care if I get credit for anything I help others with, or even if it gets used or scraped, I'm happy though to be asked to help because what ever the end result they considered me worth of asking to start with, that means more than anything else to me, and I hate it when I know my work isn't good enough, or that I simply haven't had time to do some things I've said I'd do, or I just can't fix a problem, but just having been asked means alot

As coordinator of TeamPBY, I have had to make decisions if we would or would not use peoples efforts (my own included). So far, no one has been offended, just continueing on. I am actually am a member of TeamP40 but since we found a CoG problem on the PBY (and a couple of other things) I don't have time to contribute (though I will test). Anyone who works as part of an aircraft team needs to know this up front. If Zur worked on the FM for the PBY, there is no guarantee I would use his over one I felt was better...
Lo and calm Aladar. We need planemakers....

Absolutely incredible....

Well, I guess I'm left with no alternative but to dust off the ol' copy of "Flying Tigers"! (As a prelude to flying this bird of course, because a public beta is right around the corner, correct? )

Bloody Awesome guys!

just a couple of questions:

Which exact model is it?
and;
are you going to make the 'N' model?

Cause if you do, i've got a fair few pictures of all the different Aussie paint schemes, if any of you are that way inclined.

Biggles,

P40F
The "warhawk" production model, and the first without the air intake above the nose.

Turning it into any later model wouldnt be too difficult, and only a few 3D and FM adjustments will be needed to turn it into an earlier model.

About Kiwi images, I'm already aware. Just trying to get the cockpit as realistic as possible right now. Guages need moved etc.

Also, I do appreciate the work of everyone on the team. Im sorry if some of the work you do is for naught.

just figured you guys might want a little more to help tide you over till falck releases the plane.

I fixed all the lighting and just finished up the new shadow and yes, if you loose a part of the plane you'll loose that shadow.
