Hello, a little introduction from me due to this is my first post here. I was on the original QA team for FS and loved the game from the begining. Unfortunately due to Parsoft going under I had thought that the game had died with ebbing interest for me due to the lack of planes, and RL blessing me with a baby girl. I recently got a new FFB joystick and thought I would fire up FS to run it through its paces. I searched the web and found a huge following for a game that was almost 3 years old. I must say "I am extremly impressed with all the comunity has done for this game." If the game had released with all the add-ons that I have DL'd and tried out I am sure it would have hit the market like a freight train. What you have done to the game in my eyes is what I always invisioned to be the purfect WWII Flight Sim. Please keep up the great work!! I am looking forward to the new patch, PP6.1, Nations update, and the WWI PP update. you all are doing a phenomonal job! I think you will be seeing more of me around. I am once again hooked on flight Sims Thank you...

Yeah, isn't that wild? I think what's even more amazing is that it's still going not because of anything amazing in the game itself (like would be the case for Civilization or Master of Orion), but because the game contines to transcend it's original design. There are very few cases of this in gaming history! In most cases the game gets some new add-ons and such, but it's basically the same game. Not so here, this game is in some cases radically different. It's facinating to watch. When I get the chance I'll add an article about it to my Games of Fame pages. Maury IP: Logged |

Thanks SC It's always good to hear the cries of appreciation from some one new to the board, but that also knows what he's talking about Don't get me wrong, but it better than hearing it from the guys you work with all the time if you know what I mean. Thanks ~Nat~ ------------------ 7./JG3 "Naturlich" "SDOE... Thanks to everyone who played last night. I really enjoyed myself. Didn't score a kill though.Question Though... I have the online Standard installed but you all seemed to have mission and planes that i dont have. Could someone list additional updates i should get that will not mess me up from being online standard compliant. Missions? Planes? Sounds? Skins? Utilities? new maps? Whatever you think i need. i know i can find it. Just a bit confused what will and wont mess up online play. I have DSL so hit me with all the good stuff. IP: Logged |

OK, new terrains, most of those are on my site, please read the instructions for d/ling and installation closely, I also have some utility programs, but I haven't updated that part of my site in an age so they aren't "brand new". As for other aircraft etc, best place to check for those that aren't yet in the plane packs would be simfiles.com (my link doesn't seem to be working right now so I can't paste one in), just be careful not to d/l any that are updates to plane pack aircraft as this will mess up your online standard. As for missions, well we used to use Data10.par which had loads, but I'm not sure if thats still current, hopefully someone will post a link to one of our sites that has some good missions for youIP: Logged |

For the misions we can send them when creating game so dont worry, as for the planes we usually use those in the PP and thats it. You were unlucky this morning (err evening sorry) as some of us wanted to try the new Corsair which isn't in the PP. Sorry for the confusion, and remember it's quite unusual that we test things without warning in the game's name.

Thanks for all the info. That was the first time I have been in a Lanc. When I was testing FS, bombers didn't work yet and I was in charge of the German planes. Unfortunately I was pulled off FS before it got really good, and was put on Heavy Gear 2. I can garantee that I'd pull out a can of whoop ass on anyone in HG2 Tested that for 9 months, 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. But alass there is alot I need to lean about with all the great enhancements you all have added to FS. Till we meet again in the air.[This message has been edited by SCROFT (edited 02-23-2001).] IP: Logged |
