Please check the readme at my site for details on changes (documentation is a bit limited in the update - sorry).

Follow the links from my mainpage to download (see my signature for link). Again this is beta only.

If you have difficulty with the download send me a note from the submit page at the site. I have an alternate location available.

Spin the readme still says the P-39Q is included yet it's not int he planepack and i've asked before that any P-39s not be included since they don't meet the requirements i set for planes to be in the pack.

Work is being done on the P-39 as we speak and i'm sure it will make it in the next patch.

thx

Razer, sorry about the readme. The p39 isn't in I keep forgeting to remove it from the list - I'm kind of treating the readme as an evolving thing leaving in old info to show people where it has come from.

I hope this hasn't created too much confusion.

Say guys, as one or two (maybe three?) people in the world are not english-speaking, don't you think that it could be nice to have a readme file in several languages, at least those available in SDOE (english of course, Italian, German, French) plus some other that we are sure (spanish, greek, ?).What do you think about?

My 2 euros... but anyway, I can spend a small time for a french version (on a FINAL version of the readme)if you agree with the idea.

That would be great. Unfortunately depite being Canadian, I am anything but fluent in French, or German, Spanish and Italian for that matter.

The readme documentation includes the readmes included with the latest aircraft updates. Translating all of these would be an enormous job (especially to do accurately).

I would like to get accurate translations into all of the plane loadouts and believe this is perhaps more important than the readme. For now in some cases I simply used Altavista translations (which is less than perfect but better than 190 descriptions for addon aircraft). If someone sends me accurate translations I'll be happy to add them to the loadouts and readme documents.

Ok Spin, I understand. By the way, speaking of automatic translaters, try this one. It's a french site which even includes russian and spanish.

I use it when I want to check if what I write makes sense...
Just copy and paste in the left field and click on the flags you want to get the translation from. Very useful.

Most important than focusing on translations...
1) are the bomb blast radius fixed? they were too much efficient
2) there is abug when dropping bombs, they deviated from there course, even without wind? as it been checked?

I forgot an other very important point:
3) AI is unable to take off planes with heavy torque such as Corsairs. Even F4F are difficult to take off for it.

Hi Spin,

Are all planes suppossed to have "NET" loadouts? Not all do but maybe this is planned for completion with the next beta update.

I know I have suggested this before but I think it's worth reiterating it again. The prospect of a patch that fixes the on-line bugs, including the packet loss bug, changes things slightly. I don't believe that it is practical to edit all the on-line missions to use the 'on-line only loadouts' and anyone doing this risks their hard work being overwritten if someone else hosts a mission.

I therefore propose that the online standard becomes PP6.1 + Spoon's loadouts (as a separate download) until such time that a working patch is available.

This seems a sensible compromise because it will be easier in the future to delete the loadouts from the media directories rather than modifying the individual loadout files and produce an updated planepack. Also I am not sure what would happen if someone tried to host a mission using the subsequently removed 'on-line loadouts' - probably CTD

This seems the most pragmatic of the available options. It should avoid a lot of work for all concerned and protect us from potential chaos in the event of a patch.

Hi Yardstick,

I can go either way on this one, the way you propose or the "NET" loadout method. Keep one thing in mind though as we consider the best way to go.

As far as I know, the packet loss problem is not an sdoe bug and is in fact a problem to all games and any program communicating over the net. Packets get lost plain and simple. If I am right on this, there will always be a need for Spoons loadouts, until such a time when we all have cable modems and the net can minimize or elimate packet loss.

Yes, using the "NET" loadout method will cause some online missions to get overwritten but it is not too terrible to make those changes and we really should make the mission and move a copy of it into the Multiplayer directory.

Again, I can go either way. I could be totally wrong on the packet loss thing so lets here what others think is the best option or I think Spin has a poll set up asking which method is preferred at his planepack website.

I think the newbies will like the net loadouts.

Imagine the newbies outnumbering experienced pilots and using the net loadouts while the old timers use regular loadouts.

Hey,

Does anyone else run into CTD during a dogfight between the PZL p2c and BF109E-4 or G-6? It doesn't happen right away, usually when I switch to rear view while piloting the p2c, and after some aircraft damage taken by the enemy. I tried from a fresh install also and ran into the same thing. If no, it might be mission specific, in which case I'd like someone else to try the same mission.

Also, for some reason, single play, when starting in the BF109(e4?) against Hurricanes, all aircraft sounds are missing only for the plane I start in, with the exception of the engine sound. Again, may be mission specific.

Let me know,
Tnx

Oops, yes, this is using Beta2 of pp6.1

Has anyone else experienced sound problems with pp6.1 betas?

I have found similar behaviour with some of my larger missions, previously - gun sounds would disappear as the mission progressed. But now I'm finding this in the beta 6.1 pack for missions that used to work ok. A similar thing to Gustang - my plane's engine sounds don't work but the other planes do. However it hasn't been linked to a specific plane. Any ideas on how to verify the cause of this?

In the sdoe.ini file, make sure you dont have 16 bit sound enabled. Thats all I can think of...

Hi Gustang,

Please email me the mission as I want to make sure this is not related to the engine damage code.

Thanks,
