Maj. Yohei Hinoki from the Akeno Fighter School

One of the greatest aces of the 64th Sentai, Hinoki is believed to be
the first Japanese pilot to down a Mustang in combat (probably an A-36).
After losing his leg in a dogfight with a P-51D, Maj. Hinoki was
transfered to the Akeno Fighter School to train pilots. This is the
Ki-100 in which he scored his last kill (Capt. John Benbow 457FS 506FG
P-51D 07/16/45 over Ise (Nagoya) Bay). Maj. Hinoki is believed to have
downed more than 12 enemy a/c. His combat experience proved that a
skilled pilot in a lightly armed fighter like the Hayabusa could destroy
Hurricaines, P-38's, P-51's, and even B-24's.

The "Master Falcon" finally passed away in January 1991.
