I know that most of the aircraft/vehicle creators are using 3DMax but I was wondering if there might be something else that would work since I don't have the means to be shelling out the money for 3DMax.

Actually most are created using a shareware modeler called AC3d. There are scripts written to supportthis program with openplane. the cost is $40.00.

Does that sound more inline with your budget? It is with mine.

One of the AC3D gurus can tell you more.

Yes it is compatable with open plane but not directly u need These things called hippys plugins to get your OBJ file (the 3d mogle made using anim8or) into a open plane useable format. i think.....i am just starting to make aircraft as well even though i have been hear for a good 2 years

good luck and dont thet CTDs and Corupted files stop u from creating aircraft.

Thanx. With all my experience (rather lack of) in this a few CTDs would mean that I must be doing something even if it isn't right. B'sides, it would be nice to see something other than myself crashing when it comes to SDOE.
