Rendsberger.

A quad 20 flatbed is a flatbed rail car that had an AA gun on it on a pivot mount. The gun mount had 4 20mm AA guns on it.

Maybe Maury can find a picture for you? I don't have one.

Exactly. I should point out that many (all?) had removable shutters on the side, so you never knew it that train was just some boxcars, or if one of them would drop it's sides and start hammering. Sneaky :-)

It was also a completely devistating system. Even with the train running at speed, the 4x20's could pick off planes with ease. The only hope was to make one pass and then leave, if you came around for another pass they'd have the sides open and you were toast.

Lil bastard,

The model is great. There's no reason to go into superdetail. How much of it would someone be able to see making a strafing run at 300mph anyway?

If we want to add extra polys to an object, I pick the aircraft as my primary choice.

You did a wonderful job- don't knock it.

Actually the smoke was black. Trains burn coal (or diesel) to boil water, but the steam was in a closed loop system.

Rends,

Having a working gun on a DOF train does work! That was one of the things I tested over a year ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Nice job btw!
