can you tell what it is yet...

It has had it's cowl removed...but that isn't the only thing it is hiding under it's skin!

There are 1300 polys used to build the thing, and I reckon you can see about half of them......haven't decided what to do with this bird yet........

Yep...cadillac of the skies...with a fully modelled Packhard Merlin V-1650, engine bearers, bulkheads, internal tanks for fuel, hydraulics, oil etc. Everything is where it should be. Guns and ammo in the wings, everything.

The stock P51 looks lame compared to razers P38...so I thought she could do with a boost!

and with the poly count reasonable, FR's should be too. Especially since most of the stuff doesn't come out of hiding until you get shot up.

Looks great man, BTW hitting Print screen (I THINK) will put a copy of your desktop in the clipboard, then just go in a pic editor and hit paste, Then no need for hypersnap.

nice, but the new P-38 isn't even close to 1300 polys, it's more like 700 or so..

Calm down Tail LOL

Spanky, it;s hitting Alt Print Screen twice that saves the main window as a screen dump, doing it once saves as text only without images. The yes, you just open up photoshop, open a new doc with the given settings and the ctrl V it in.

Don't forget, though Razer, half of the polys in the count are in things like the engine, internal framework, radiators, oil tanks, hydraulic tanks, guns and ammo boxes inside the wings, and fuel tanks. Not stuff that you would see until you get shot up a lot! And even then, most of it will only be seen close up.

I'll play with screenshots, but I used hypersnap coz I'm trying to find a screengrabber I like! Any suggestions?

ArgonV....drop me a mail, and let me know what you have in mind!

Been helping Hawk get started on a few modelling projects too...

Li'l B....there are plenty of planes to work on yet! Also, it's early days yet for this bird. Don't know yet how much of an FR hog she will be. I think it will be o.k.If you make this sort of stuff standard, we are talking one serious load of modelling!

Wakeup,

If you are looking for a screen capture utility, get Snag-it. http://www.techsmith.com/
I use this program all the time at work and it works awesome. It's a shareware program that you can use forever. It gives you a warning message everytime you start it up, but other than that it's a fully functioning program.

(Shaking head sadly) . . . Waddya mean you don't know what to do with this? ;)

Oh, and get rid of Hypersnap. Go to http://w1.2518.telia.com/~u251800188/wg/
Download Wingrab 1.34a. It's much better than Hypersnap, it's freeware, and there are no stupid comments in the grab about what program was used. I used wingrab for the captures of the online tutorial I put up at Fighter Squadron Central.

Thanks Jug! and Jgro!
Thats just what I need...and no annoying on screen nags! The Hypersnap box keeps sitting right over what I'm trying to screenprint! I'll try them both.

O.K. you guys have talked me into it....I'll put the bits into the stock P51 and see how it looks! I just need to get it textured, so I hope to have some screen shots for next week.
