Hey guys

Well this time our own Goth has interview the two movers and shakers behind "THE PATCH" for SDOE.

Go to http://www.world-at-war.com/index.shtml and "Interviews" to read all about it!

It's really interesting stuff!

The work that Bryan, SV and co are doing is the main reason I have got back into painting in SDOE. I made a decision about 6 months ago not to do any more work as it was going to be wasted if SDOE had a finite and possibly short remaining shelf-life. With IL-2 was on the horizon and I was looking to turn my attentions in this direction (I still will - but not exclusively). However, the news on the patch has re-kindled my enthusiasm and I have been busily working away in an attempt to realise my visual goals for many of the newer aircraft in SDOE.

I've been waiting to get a good feel of what the new plane pack would include before starting a major PR push- and now you guys do this-

I think I'll have a good enough idea of what needs to be written in a couple of weeks. Then look out . . . SDOE and open plane will be on the march.

Off Subject: Yardstick, may I ask you to read the thread, "Palette Colors," in the Tech Talk forum and see if you could point me in a good direction? (ArgonV suggested I try asking you about it.)

Thanks!

PR,

Although I can browse World-at-war using my home PC, when I access it at work it locks up my system. I think it may be a sound thing happening when I first enter, the page usually loads and then freezes. I just wanted to point it out so you know about it.

That's weird, but I'll indeed look into it. A sound thing you say? We don't have any sounds assosiated with the site, unless your some how able to pick-up my belches? Hey..I had taco's for lunch! Give me a break!

Seriously, I'll check into it.

Question: Is there anything the SDOE community, or other individuals could do to assist in the patch effort?

[Sean V Baker]

Enthusiasm is the most important thing

I'm sure you'll get plenty of it.
Great article, very good news, good to see that Openplane will have a future.
Cheers

Since I'm the one who put the coding of the site together, I can tell you that it uses the basic HTML code and sticks to it. No plugins, Java or anything similar is used; and that's not just because I can't do it . It does use server side includes, but your browser shouldn't even know it.

I am striving to make the site as compatible as possible, and it seems to work with Netscape 4.7x, N6, and IE (this one works best, as always).

What browser are you using? Is this a problem you get with all the pages or just some of them? Perhaps try this one, it's probably the simplest one we have (in terms of HTML code, not layout):
http://www.world-at-war.com/bios/index.shtml

I am suspecting something, but if this one doesn't work, then it's definitely a problem of your browser. Please let me know the results (you can use my e-mail if you wish, it's in my profile).
