Hi Guys,I will be "sponsoring" a newbie night this weekend. Saturday, 8pm MST. This would be 3AM GMT. Since the Aussie's are between 8 and 10 hours ahead of GMT, they could show up too. We will use the Online standard only. Since there may be lot's of people from the U.S. playing at this time, if enough newbies are interested I'll announce a different server. Until then, count on california12.activision.com We're going to try a couple of new things (once people get the mechanics down) to help them when they go up against the more experienced flyers. ------------------

I will be there if someone can help me with installing PP6. I get some kind of a
"error while decompressing fileC://Program files/Fighter Squadron/Media/data10.par,err= 9". I made sure to checked for "read only" situation with all of the files. Matter of fact, I could not come across that file specifically. I have the patch in the game, came when purchased. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times including fdisk three times. I tried to have it set up for this past Sunday, but no go. Help!!Riverrat out!

Riverratt,It sounds like you havea corrupted download. Did you try downloading the patch again? Also, make sure any virus checkers are turned off during the install. ------------------

Da Jug head,Thanks for your reply. I tried all that you suggested and d/l for the third time and magically, something worked. Now to start and start and reapply the game to where I had it. I'll be there on Saturday for a couple of hours. Wifey calling from Florida. I'll check after and see if anyone is still flying. What happens when I get shot down? What do I do then? Is that it for me or do I reenter? I have Nations and PP6 and of course the patch. What other programs do I need?

Just a reminder.See you at california12 server tomorrow noght. Riverratt- sorry, didn't see your post earlier. You've got everything you need. When you get shot down, the most fun thing to do is F5 and watch some other people fly. You can always hit escape and leave, but you have to wait until the game is over and everyone is in the ready room before starting again. We'll probably play the first couple with respawn turned on and set a time limit. You won't have to worry about it then. Ritt bear, I live 25 miles south of Denver. Sailor- make a quadruple espresso  , that'll wake you up  Of course it might be hard keeping the stick steady from the caffiene jitters  If this will be your first time on-line,

and click on the "Online" button. There's a link at the top of the page to a tutorial for logging on and getting into an online game. Other newbies have found it very helpful. See you there! ------------------
