K this one for the plane builders.

What about having a way to adjust the FM figures on the fly while your testing.

This would be great and if anyone can do it Bryan can since he made OPS.

You would be going along in SDOE and testing your plane, you find the roll rate is a tad too slow, (this is for the times you don't know the actual value)

So you hit alt O and it pauses the game and takes you to an OPS light (TM) LOL built right into the game engine, then you adjust some paremeters and exit back into the game.

If it feels better hit alt S to save the settings or go back into OPS light to adjust again.

Of course this alt O for ops light would only be accessable from a new menu selection, fm flight test or somthing, so it wouldn't be accessable from single player or network/online.

Tell me that woudlnt' speed up the process a tad?

Crap wrong forum Please move to patch section admin. Damn

...Spanky,

Great idea... but it won't work.

FS parces and loads the aircrafts .sm profile prior to the launch of the mission (this is why ya can't cheat with FS)...

Pausing and modifying the .sm would only take effect if you restarted the mission.

K well have it reload the mission right then and there, at the last spot and alt you were at.

It would kinda rebuild and auto load the mission.

All without goign back to the main menu.

It woudl still be WAY faster then going back to OPS and loading the plane in there.

Also, I guess you would have to make this OPS light a plugin so it could be upgraded along with OPS.

Oh what about this, When you enter the FM flight test, it does lets the game engine reparce and load the SM while in the game.

You don't have to worry about cheating in the FM flight test mode cause your not flying with anyone.

Can't we circumnavigate that cheat beating feature? but only for this one flight mode?

Guess I should have mentioned that in the first post, I was thinking thats what would happen in the FM test flight mode.

I could live with a mission re-start!

Having OPS built into the Sim would speed things up a tad too.

Having OPS in the sim could also make things unstable and buddy. But if OPS 2000 were added in, it could be stable if all the proper plugins were created and bug free!

K just to clarify, this OPS light would only be built into the FM test flight mode of SDOE.

Also argon, there is no guarantee that OPS 2000 is going to be any more stable then OPS is now. Its a work in progress. It sure would be nice but just cause its a new version doesn't mean much.

It sounds like the way Bryan is doing it though it will be easier and faster to repair bugs.

I would actually suggest that a flight test mode just be built right into OPS 2000 but I don't think they could do that cause then they would have to borrow a TON of code from SDOE, and that can't be legal.

So adding some OPS code to a special version of the SDOE engine would be the next best thing.
