That's funny, because I had the about same idea. Great minds think alike I guess I always hated Dover's dark grey sea, it was too much contrasted with the bright blue sky... So I modified the sea a bit: Next step would be to repaint the gound with fields and such. IP: Logged |

So there's others than I who hate that sea. - Pachy could you please post those tiles somewhere? They seem to look very good! The only bad thing about this is I'll have to repaint all the harbour and bay textures I've made IP: Logged |

Thanks guys. I could upload it that way (not by e-mail though, too big!), but maybe it would be better to remap the gound too. I'm going to give it a try. If I make no progress in the next few days I'll release the sea tiles only.Aui, did you repaint the harbour andd bay textures? I'm interested Aladar, Rendsburger has set the colors brighter, with those green trees it gives that nice "spring" touch.

Very nice Rend!! How did you do it more exactly? - did you have to assemble the tiles first? Anyone knows if there's a similar function available for Photoshop?Pachy, I've mailed you the tiles. The primarily changes to all of them is to reduce the whitewater foam surrounding the shores or blocking the entrances to the bays/harbours. Sorry for sitting on them for two years... I forgot I'd changed them. Btw, also have a partly remapped sea but not as good as yours //Aui [This message has been edited by Aui (edited 02-07-2001).] IP: Logged |

Again, i donīt want to post this on any website. If a german user is here, who can upload this stuff, mail me, and i send him a CD-R! On the other hand i know that Johannes is painting a Rhinland in spring texture. How i made this:-You need Nats "creating new terrain textures" tutotial. Download it at Nats site: http://members.nbci.com/naturlich/ -If you only want to replace the textures follow the instruction from part 1-5. -Now you have all original textures you need. -Open a graphic software (i use Corel Photopaint) -The only thing you have to change is image equalize. I donīt know if other graphic software use the same name, so i post a picture here, you can see what i mean (sorry, german language).Look at the red circles to see what i changed. -Batch converting all tiff files. This takes a while. If you finished you have to place it to the SDOE Folders.Read Nats tutorial, where it must be placed. -Thatīs it. Fly a rhineland mission and enjoy! Rendsburger

If I remember rightly that Tutorial was written before we had Untile and Dicer, I haven't read it for a while, but still here goes:Extract the parfile using Irfan View batch convert the terrain tiles to bmp format and place in the same directory as Untile run Untile4 with the following command c:\untile4 256 256 rhinelandSuper (think thats it, check the readme) Now you can convert the resulting BMP to Jpg to save memory, remember, this JPG will be 75mb in size. Open the super jpg in Photoshop and make your changes, then save it into your Dicer folder as a tif and with the correct name (ie rhinelandSuper.tif). run Dicer and at the command prompt type c:\dicer -b 20 20 rhinelandSuper.tif once finished, copy all your new tiles into your terrain/rhineland/textures folder and you're done Both Untile4 and Dicer are DOS based programs. Hope this helps you guys ~Nat~ IP: Logged |
