I usually don't stray far from the OP WW1 forum, but do have a question for the general group.
I have been messing about with Kali, well known to Red Baron vets, and find that SDOE will run there. Still testing the waters, but I get a lower ping with other local flyers than if going thru the Activision internet route. I hope to lure a few (many?) of the Red Baron flyers over to the OP online group. Maybe this is old ground, so comments requested.
I did ask the techies at Kali to look at making SDOE a supported game..they are now reviewing and requesting feed-back from any testing we do.
For those who don't know what Kali is, see www.kali.net. Essentially, it will emulate an ipx over the net. See also comments in the WW1 forum.

Got my cart before the horse...did a search and see that Kali has been a topic and has been used before... Still, since the folks at Kali are looking at making it a supported game, any new relevant comments are welcomed and will be forwarded....

Sdoe Online is a peer to peer game! ,, so the host server (Kali) that hosts a lobby really doesn't won't make any difference to the speed of online gameplay.

Some of the sdoe servers have gone, thats why they have 9999 ping in the list when you go online.

SO having another somewhere else would obviously make sense,, the problem I see is i'm so used to going to California 12 or those in the sdoe list that I would go to another! yet

I hope activision doesn't drop the california 12 ,, or the Netherlands one of here!,,as a backup!!

others will answer you more helpfully I hope ,, !
