Well, I have come to the conclusion that this setting is bad. I produces wierd image flickerings if you zoom in too close to something. So if you have this in your sdemons.ini, delete it!

What is the purpose of this setting? It seems whenever you run SDOEControl it gets automatically put in the sdemons.ini file.

Michael told us there was many lines in the INI that are not used by the game now. These lines were used by an earlier version and didn't make it in the final release.

This is from the SDEMON.ini documentation:
NearClip Default: 0.215
Sets how close an object can get to the viewer before it’s clipped out of view (in feet). Don’t change this.
WinScaling Default: 0.125
Don’t change this.

FarClip Default: 8.0
Sets how far away an object (or poly) can be before it’s clipped out of view (in miles).
FogNearClip Default: 7.0
Sets when to begin fogging (in miles) and should always be less than FarClip.
AmbientLight Default: 0.35
Sets the ambient light level. Should always be between 0 and 1.
InfiniteLight Default: 0.65
Sets the light level from the ‘sun’. Should always be between 0 and 1.

This clip setting will assist with improving framerates. If your fps is poor then set the clips closer to your plane (remember fognearclip must be closer than farclip). This may be why you are getting goofy textures.

Thanks guys. I think I will just delete the FarClip entry like I always do. It wasnt there in the origonal sdemons.ini file... It only gets added with SDOEControl.
