I was online for the first time last night having a ball with a couple of P 51s when I dived in my Me 262. The screen turned a bright red and I heard this immense static that I swear almost sounded like a human scream. Next thing I know my plane blows and Im onto my next one. I didnt get hit by gun fire so I assumed my head burst .... I dont know. Is it possible to die from a red out in this game?IP: Logged |

Is that not the...um...symptom of the 'killable pilot'? Oh, does it hurt when your head bursts?[This message has been edited by Sunray (edited 02-01-2001).] IP: Logged |

So does everyone else get static? I can barely make out bogie calls. And the clouds flicker all the time if I go high enough. Ive got 348MBRAM and the setting are 1152x864.IP: Logged |

Basic the clouds flicker more when you are above them than looking down!,Than flying directly at them!,, and also seem to me flcker more in padlock view, there is no set rule and it's different for what planes you fly, the type of cloud cover there is! Full overcast is most noticable! as the whole screen flashes grey,SO light cloud is best, if you make a mission using clouds for online Most mission are flown without them, as clouds chew up some fps for those with slower PC's,, so we tend to not use them that much due to this common denominator,,ie,, the speed of the processor/graphics card. The voices,, static as you are hearing are criss clear bogie calls and a real gurguling choking sounds,,#Check you speakers, and volume level sound card setup! Make sure you got your speakers plugged into the correct input,,namely not "headset" or "external in" Mostly all soundcards need an external amplifier, usually built into pc speakers, Maybe you just rigged up a normal set of loudspeakers from your deck! etc etc....
