Hey guys... I'll just start by saying that I've always loved this game since I've first played it when it came out, and that was a LONG time ago! Since then, I haven't played, and haven't been up to date on what modifications and add-ons have been developed, and I'm totally lost!I recently purchased FS on Ebay for $10, and well, I'm back into the game. I just love the physics and graphics, and I'm dying to see what is going on with the community. I remember the plane pack, but that was all I remember from back in the day. Now I'm seeing new this and that, new damage effects and everything... How have you guys held up?! Just felt like dropping in before I go play multiplayer with my friend... IP: Logged |

What has been going on....lets see...Planepack 6, Nations now includes Australia, Italy, Japan and France, and I know they have even more planned! DM has come on a long way! I dusted off a very old project to upgrade the B17 DM and remembered how much beter than the original it seemed....it was just a variety of smoke and some SFC changes really! Now look what we are up to! Not only that, but check out the quality of the add-on planes now! They have been tweaked and polished, and quite a few are built to a standard far higher than the original releases the game shipped with! We have new terrains on the way, even more damage modelling on the way to affect flight handling, and the plane builders are just as enthusiastic as they always were! IP: Logged |

Also, you might want to do a search for Spoonmans catch up CD. It is packed with all kinds of goodies and is very professionally put together. weaselIP: Logged |

Yeah, I noticed the quality of the planes... Man, they're just plain beautiful now! One of the reasons I just bought this game, is because I thought it had TCP/IP Internet play... I remember trying to play this a long time ago, but my computer always used to lock up when trying to play it... So when I got the game, and was ready to play a game with a friend, I found out that it was the "LAN" protocol... *sigh* It pissed me off! They should just have IPX OR "LAN"... Not both... Someone should make a patch where we can host and join TCP/IP games! IP: Logged |

Immortal,First make sure you are running Version 1.50 and have the online standard add-ons listed above. When you click multiplayer from the main screen, you will be presented with 3 options: IPX, TCP/IP and Internet. Choose Internet, then select the California12 Server. From there you get a choice of two lobbies Fighter Squadron and Ace's Den. Choose Fighter Squadron. If no-one is there wait for a bit, someone may be in a game already or they'll arrive shortly. The best times to find people there are 10:00pm EST to 2:00 am EST. The European folks also seem to play from this server (of the UK server) and if you're on earlier (2130 GMT) you may pick up a few from there. If for some reason you don't find any, Download SDOEBeeper from Tailslides site and it will beep you when someone is online. ------------------ Spin Visit Spin's Planepack Site to learn more about planepack V6.0 and ongoing development of the planepack IP: Logged | |
